| | | saigor564 | 12-09-2024 05:43 PM | is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from supermarkets and convenience stores to use for creating ebay accounts or even guest ebay accounts? I was thinking perhaps the numbers they've got have potentially already been used and have been put back on the sale shelf? |

| hotadvice | 12-26-2024 04:39 PM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store no...use contract sims under your name...they work better ;0 |
| saigor564 | 01-06-2025 09:37 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store can you explain your point of view, why do you think that? I just want to create multiple stealth accounts. Sometimes account get banned and i think it could be the sim card I used, maybe they have been used before and the numbers get recycled and resold |
Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store Yes, phone numbers are recycled.
Amazon tells you if the number is linked to another account during registration, happens quite a lot, just pick another SIM pack off the pile.
I don't recall eBay ever telling me a number had been used previously, but then I open a lot less eBay accounts so maybe I've just been lucky. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 01-08-2025 08:01 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store ebay do not care about sim cards as long as there are no violations , you can use the same card multiple times and ebay will never tell you that you are not supposed to use it
suspensions for new accounts are random , you can use any details you like and most of new accounts will still be suspended or restricted |
| saigor564 | 01-08-2025 10:40 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store no, using the same phone number to create another account definitely gets the account suspended, I noticed that when i made a mistake when i created two accounts with the same phone number but different email address, the second account that used the phone number of the first account got suspended, but the first account did not. |
| saigor564 | 01-08-2025 10:41 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store i can't believe brand new sim cards you buy from the supermarket, the numbers have actually been recycled from previous use sim cards, is that true, does that mean other people may have created ebay accounts with those Pay-as-You-go sim cards and then the sim card reaches it's expiry date, and then the number gets reused by another mobile service provider for a brand new sim card? |

| agent006140 | 01-08-2025 10:59 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store I am new to cell phone,I bought a tracfone in the supermarket,I dont recall if there is a SIM card, but it works for receiving and making phone calls, but not so for SMS,some companies will send SMS and I do not receive them, some like AMZN,I can.
It is a cheap phone,it costs me like $26??
question-why are older iphones so expensive,I see them selling iphone 13 on Bestbuy website, refurbished by Geek squad for 600 dollars? |

I dont know much about these smart phones,I have a landline with a local phone company for both phone and internet, during past hurricanes, the only service available are landline phone and natural gas,as both have cables under ground.
No water,no electricity,we shopped for grocery in the dark in local supermarket, they only let 10 of us in at a time ,shopping for mystery pizza, day old bread |

Mobile phone companies pay for their number ranges and an annual fee, they don't want numbers sitting unused as it costs them money, they want those numbers generating income.
In my experience about 1 in 30 numbers have previously been used on Amazon, obviously eBay is less popular so there's a lower chance and it will be different between mobile networks. |
| SaiJin | 01-13-2025 11:07 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store the good thing about these cell providers is that everyone knows numbers cycle.
So these platforms don't just ban you on 1 thing. More than 1 thing has to match to be linked. |
| RedPill | 01-13-2025 04:51 PM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store These companies appreciate that numbers are recycled all the time |

| mon73 | 09-28-2025 11:57 AM | Re: is it ok to use those pay as you go sim cards you pickup from the store It's risky to use those SIM cards for eBay accounts. The number might have been used before and could cause problems. |
