The new magic jack
 

Just thought I would drop this out there. Probably not huge news. They are basically now hi-jacking your cell phone then running the calls through the internet instead of the cell towers that you get charged minutes for to use per phone call.

In what way?

Wifi phones can do this also. Has anyone had any trouble using magic jack and tones not going through to send automated responses? "Press 1 for blah blah blah..."

^^^ Magic Jack works Perfect for eBay and PayPal in every way.

Plus has many other advantages in having a home phone, not to mention a very affordable option.

I think I read somewhere about Magicjack. If i'm not mistaken, it doesn't work with dial up does it? How about DSL? Any ideas?

Just found out it doesn't work for Dial-up. Not enough bandwith. It does work with:

magicJack requires one of the following Internet connections:

* Broadband
* High-Speed Internet
* Cable Internet
* DSL
* WiFi
* Wireless
* WiMax

A minimum bandwidth UPLOAD speed of 128 kb/s is required.

Now I'm wondering if you can change IP addresses w/ high speed and DSLfor all my stealth accounts on amazon and ebay using magicjack. While I love dial-up, there are at most times that if I had hair, I'd be pulling on it regularly. I now just beat on table constantly trying to help it speed up and relieve the stress of being very impatient.

^^^^^^^^^^^ Not sure what you mean? Magicjack is a VOIP phone service that uses an internet connection to make phone calls. You can't change your ip with the Magicjack.

Does not work for dialup That sucks!! Its good for an extra phone and you can change the # one time after that it will be 10.00

It works for a fax machine too. :)

It does? How? I heard you could by setting your fax machine to the lowest setting tried everything and gave up.

^^^ Are you trying to fax with Magic Jack using Dial-Up?

I fax using Magic Jack all the time with no problems, but I am not using Dial-Up.

I use broadband.. make sure it's connected then fax. I don't think it works for all fax machines. I had trouble with one, but a new one I bought worked fine.

No I use high speed internet. Not dial-up if I had dial-up then I could easily fax without the magic jack lol. So you can send and receive faxes no problem? I have tried it with a all in one fax machine. Maybe I should just get a regular fax machine and see if that works.
