Possible Issue using Callcentric for phone verification (?)

I got a phone number from Callcentric. After that I created the account, paid the service etc, I took a look in their FAQ area and I found this :

" .. I keep receiving calls from telemarketers or for people that aren't me, why is this?

If you have a real US or Canadian phone number assigned to your account it is likely that this number belonged to multiple people before it was assigned to you.
Callcentric does not re-assign numbers that were assigned to another Callcentric user immediately; instead we hold numbers for at least 1 month before assigning it to another user. Unfortunately many telemarketers use out of date databases to conduct sales or research and you may receive calls from them.

Callcentric suggests that you visit the National Do Not Call registry and register your number...
"

So if there is a possiblity that the phone number belonged to someone else in the past (a month ago or so) , it's possible that it was used on Ebay or PP, and if the person was suspended, then you're dead?

I may be paranoied, but I'd say to think twice before to use their service.

All voip services are like that. They reuse did's. What do you think happens to the old did's. They don't just throw them away, they sell them to other people. There is a small chance that you might get the same number from someone who used it on paypal/ebay. But, even that does happen you have other stealth accounts.
