has anyone ran into this?

I created a new stealth account. I posted a new auction up. Then ebay called to verify my account name. Then since I started the auction for only .99 cents to attract bidders plus 1 day auction, they wanted to know why I did this. Does this comonly happen?

You should have told them that you are new to Ebay, you listed a 1 day auction not even knowing about it. You should have played "stupid".

Nope. And the lovely woman above me is right! She might be new but she sure knows what she's talking about. Take her advice next time. ;)
