Getting call, but problem getting code

I am using a US phone number from IPKall, and forwarding this to a number held on callcentric. Everything is forwarding correctly, and I am receiving the call using the callcentric softphone application. On answering the automated message asks "please confirm you are expecting this by pressing" and then gives a random number. Problem is, on pressing the number on the application, it just does not register, so I am stuck like this. Is this a software problem, or some inherent problem with using voip? If someone has a working solution step-by-step for receiving calls to a free US number while being in the UK, then I am interested.

Have you tried forwarding the call to a landline phone?

I really need to just get this forwarded to the computer.

best to go to a landline,

it detects PC, wont work

Seriously? I never heard of this kind of security measure before. Any possibility of forwarding to a mobile?

to mobile maybe, landline better due to push button tone that they like to hear back from you, you may be able to do same with mobile and possibly some speakers too.

What do you mean by speakers?

Have a DTMF generator installed in your PC. Use that to make tones from PC speakers. Play the speakers into the microphone of your phone or into mic of softphone running on another nearby PC. Be sure to choose the proper tones for the digits they want you to press.

Having taken a closer and deeper look into this issue, I'm wondering why you didn't use the app recommended by IPKall directly with IPKall, yet instead chose to bounce the IPKall number to a 3rd party and then use the 3rd party's app.

Cut out the middle man (callcentric) and the included app.

As I am sure you cannot just use IPKall by itself. Can't remember technical details, but you have to forward it to another system. Anyway, I've got this working now by using SJPhone instead.
