need help confirming location

i need to confirm location in one part of the to do list...
i have to add a card inorder to receive the phonecall to confirm location....
i was told a vcc will not work for this anymore? such as visa or mastercard???? what can i do to go around this???

diplomatx 08-15-2010 03:15 PM

you actually just need a landline to confirm location.
paypal wants you to confirm your cc to prove you own it and confirm location to the phone # you have on you account. From what you post you need a phone number to confirm location. you can bypass this if your unverified, just add a bank account and that's all.

aribragin 08-15-2010 03:18 PM

i have a call forwarding assigned already...but in order to receive the call i need to add a new card....and i was told vcc`s dont work for this no more..????

jesseinkaron 08-15-2010 04:22 PM

confirm location ..

I just had the same problem.
It says add your credit card and then proceed to phone verification?
I added the credit card and then nothing happened?
What is supposed to happen ?
Do you need to talk to an employee ?
Or is an automated call with a pin code ?

aribragin 08-15-2010 04:47 PM

i believe its an automated call with a pin code...was your phoneline valid for activity?

jesseinkaron 08-15-2010 11:50 PM

My phone is a call forwarding service .. it works to verify ebay sellers account. .

However it often requires several attempts

aribragin 08-16-2010 12:54 AM

so you had to put in a vcc inorder to receive a call correct?

digitalslave 08-16-2010 02:29 AM

I have the same issue, I need to "Confirm Location." When I click the resolve button, it leads me to "Add Credit or Debit Card" page.
I'm supposed to add card info then continue with phone verification.

Can I use a vcc for this?

jesseinkaron 08-24-2010 01:17 AM

I am having no luck with the VCC ,

I add the credit card and nothing happens.

Has anyone been able to use a VCC to remove this limitation ?

jesseinkaron 08-26-2010 11:25 AM

Can anyone tell me if there is a solution to the " verify your location "
Add credit card to proceed to phone verification ?
Anyone out there have a VCC for this ?
I have 600 bucks in an account and the last step to resolve limitation is "confirm location"
If it helps .. I will pay for this advice . Just PM me if you know how to fix this.
I will pay a reasonable fee for anyone who can fix this ..

VCC as in Virtual Credit Card? Or Vanilla Credit Card? I am planning to try Entropay, but not sure if it works. Have you tested yet?

Also, they asked me to put a bank card or credit card to confirm my location , but not phone number..... Is it after I put the card?

jesseinkaron 08-28-2010 02:12 AM

From what I understand , in order to confirm your location .. you need to add a credit card first , then proceed to phone verification. I have been told the entropay will work , however you need to use a real credit card to get an entropay card , so that is not gonna work for me.

Are you sure an Entropay VCC works? From what I heard from rsot, you can make unlimited VCC once you opened your account. I am also limited from it. I can do it for you too (open you a card) :)

Also, how does the phone verification works? They give you a number on the phone? Or does paypal talk to you? :\

jesseinkaron 08-28-2010 12:18 PM

I just completed the "add credit card" step.
I used what is called a " AVS " Vcc .
It was a lot harder to find a seller with these kind of Vcc.
The credit card worked and I proceeded to phone verification.
I use a call forwarding service for the phone verification and this was a problem.
It was an automated call , they ask you to enter a 4 digit code .
Similar to the ebay phone verification , except with paypal .. you ONLY get 1 chance!
If you don't get it right the first time , they mail out a letter.
So now I got 700 bucks in a stealth account and a letter being mailed to a stealth account. I can look forward to spending that 700 bucks next year !

;O When they call you, they give you 4 digits? Is it right after you put the credit card?

jesseinkaron 08-28-2010 01:49 PM

after you add the card .. it goes to phone verification.
You see 4 digits on your computer screen , and they ask you to enter the 4 digit code when u get the call. I sugges using a home phone instead of a mobile phone.
You only get 1 chance at this .. and if it fails they send a letter.
The letter is useless if you used a stealth address!

laylaylay 08-28-2010 06:17 PM

I am currently using my real address. I assume they spell the digits in english? Just hope it's proper english. :P

Once it's resolved, does paypal need to review your account?

jesseinkaron 08-29-2010 04:14 AM

I wish I knew what happened when it was resolved !
Unfortunately for me , it was not resolved so I can't say.
Anyway .. you will see the digits likes this " 1234 "
You punch the keys on your phone.
If you are using your home phone it should be fine.

laylaylay 08-29-2010 02:42 PM

They spell it on the phone, and you write it on the site?

holymoly 11-04-2010 05:27 PM

No they SPEAK the numbers "4 digits" you have to enter...I have had this happen to a few accounts.

The main thing is to have a CALL FORWARD that works the FIRST TIME or you can say goodbye to the money for 180 days. YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE EVERYONE!!!!!

Beyond that, I "heard" you can bypass this with a Virtual Bank Account if you are Non-verified. If you are already VER, then you need to enter in a NEW VCC/CC or confirm the OLD, and receive the call from PP.

Just a quick question...has anyone verified via the "attach information" to verify address. I.e. water/electric/rent bill....

I tried this once and they SUSPENDED the account for 180.

moneyhungry 11-18-2010 03:09 PM

pp phone verify getting harder

i get the call put the correct code in and they are still sending letters to that address. has anyone bypassed this with certain phone services? now one i did add a bank too and all the sudden 2 weeks later i got my limitation has been lifted...

happywheels1234 12-26-2010 08:07 PM

I just confirmed my identity by doing the "confirm location" thing. but it still says waiting for your response. do they just need a couple of hours to change that or is there something else that I need to do?

holymoly 12-26-2010 08:57 PM

Just see if you need to add any more info...

potofgold23 01-29-2011 06:44 AM

As far as the letter going to a stealth address (such as an address that isn't yours but is still a real address) couldn't you just fill out a change of address form for the stealth name/address and have it directed to your real address?

holymoly 01-29-2011 06:58 PM

You could, but PP will catch this...any changes are checked to limited accounts. Less there has been at least 90 days between the address of limited account and this one being linked.

potofgold23 01-29-2011 07:03 PM

I meant a change of address with the actual post office themselves. Paypal couldn't catch this could they?
