Phone forwarding and Linking?
 

Hello,

I have a few questions about phone forwarding.

Firstly, if you forward a VOIP number to a number that has been previously banned, will eBay or Paypal be able to see the number it is being forwarded to?

Also, I understand that is it necessary to be able to receive calls from Paypal and eBay therefore you must keep the numbers open and accessible. However, if you forward your ebay and paypal account phone numbers to your real number which has been previously banned, and you miss a call from paypal or ebay. Then if you return the call, will you get linked as you are returning the call from a previously banned number.

If this is the case, then how do you avoid returning ebay and paypal calls if you are forwarding the call from the VOIP numbers to your real number? Does this mean I can never return any missed calls from unknown numbers??

Also one last question. If you have a confirmed telephone number on file with paypal, and they try to call you, but the number is not active anymore will they ban your account purely for this reason??

No, they can't see it.

Yeah, it's usually a good idea in case they call.

You can just use a VOIP number that you are able to call from like Sipgate.co.uk - It costs £10 to top up, then you can call from your computer and it will be like you are calling from that number.

I think they would decide this on a case-by-case basis, it certainly wouldn't do your account any good.

Blocked numbers can be retrieved and viewed depending on the phone system being used. A certain virtual PBX that I've seen on a company have a real-time call controller application that pops up any inbound call (blocked or not) information (name, caller ID, location, time, etc.).
