Give the guy credit. He's offering a good service for a good price. Nothing wrong with that at all :) I'm sure that by charging $20 he's in a better business position than someone charging $1.

you can use jetnumbers with your old fashion telephone, no need of complex software or hardware. And accomplish that famous verification! :)

yeah tossabledigits works for verification. They give you a real number that redirects to your real phone when someone calls it like Paypal. $3 per number + $3 per month. Pretty cheap.
