| biggesmalls | 12-01-2011 11:25 AM | need to verify your address/phone try this Hi
I have seen alot of post about people not being able to verify there phone
or address
I have no idea if this works but its worth a try
Ever thought about using a local phone box
I dont know about other countries worldwide but last time i checked
in the uk the phone boxes have similar numbers to local houses area code, etc
You should be ok for the verfiying call |
I would think local phone boxes have been burned to the hilt with eb/pp |
ingle92protege | 12-01-2011 11:31 AM | Why don't you just buy a sim card from tesco, they're only 99p. It's a no brainer |

if you verify your paypal with a landline it confirms your address
which you carn"t do with a stealth address, can you ? |
ingle92protege | 12-01-2011 04:06 PM | Verifies your address with a landline? How would that verify your address though since the phone box wouldn't be at your address?
I only thought you could verify your address by getting an avs vcc or sending in ID.... |

If they can't find you on public records, they ask for docs. |
xxxhustlerxxx | 12-01-2011 06:47 PM | tried to use a phone box about 8 years ago, just after my very first account went! the call came through, but as you go to press the number it asks you to press it does nothing. tried it on several different phone boxes. mind you this was 8 years ago. but i dont think it would of changed!
like 'ingle92protege' said just use sim cards. plenty out there for 99p or less if you need one urgent. (tesco and asda are 24/7 these days). or get them for free if you look on the net. |
GreenBean | 12-01-2011 06:53 PM | We did the phone box tricks a few years back.
Had UK stealthers running around the housing estate trying to get calls :juggle:
Not as great to do these days, in fact epic fail. |
wonderful.insane | 12-01-2011 07:11 PM | if u buy vectone mobile siimcard and pay them 10 pounds, they give you a landline number as well which you can choose from the list(0208,0203).if you dont need for the next month then dont just pay them.you can use both mobile number and landline number at the same time on your mobile. |
koko007 | 12-01-2011 07:23 PM | Soho99, £2 pm can divert to any number, worked perfectly for me.
I found it is the best for the value. |
tylamay | 12-01-2011 11:57 PM | phone box is waste of time wont work, just get a 99p sim card then off you go, but just to remind you when you used mobile sim card sometimes it work with ebay sometimes it don't, i done a few for my seller account sometimes they work but not all the time, maybe some days when you do it you get lucky :amen: |
biggesmalls | 12-02-2011 12:43 PM | Oh, i thought a landline number would verify your address either that or them sending a confirmation letter to the address on your paypal.
I always get the free sims off the internet and use them when linking paypal to ebay for paying fees |

I only thought you could verify your address by getting an avs vcc or sending in ID.... | This is off paypals website
The 'Confirm by Phone' process allows you confirm your address by receiving an automated phone call at a landline associated with your card billing address. When you receive the call you will be asked to enter a PIN number to complete the address confirmation process.
Why i said use a phone box because if its close to your house, it will have the same area code and first 3 numbers like 0121 673 ....
All you would have to do is go to the phone box and phone your mobile
then youve got the phone box number
put it in paypal when you make your account
go on paypal click on confirm my address ,click by landline
you will get a automated phone call by paypal giving you the confirmation pin
obviously be in the phone box at the time ,enter the pin, address confirmed
I know you can get free sims and use them but mobile numbers dont confirm your address all that does is lets you set paypal up as a automatic payment for ebay fees |
MakerViet | 12-02-2011 02:17 PM | I think he want confirm location after he added avs vcc.
Landline is hard for virtual, Try to get free sim.. |
egnsgtsmoke | 12-21-2011 05:59 PM | No More Phone Booths With The cell phone era here. It is almost impossible to find a phone booth, here in the USA, and if you do find one they usually don't work much less have a call back number on them. |
