Probably discussed somewhere where I cant find it, but...

I was wondering...

Many phone companies have a service called Ident-a-Call. They give you a second number for your landline. To use for the Fax with a different ringtone etc etc.

Why not get these for verification? Then cancel them and get a new number for Identa-call etc etc as needed?

because that costs money, alot of people use a free service online that gives you a diff. phone number (active) for free.

It's probably not a good idea to use a landline; reverse lookup is too easy to do.

but aspkin last time i signed up with ebay i put in my spare cellphone number and they said i can NOT use a cellphone and i NEED to use a landline.

This is what confuses me :confused:
I always use a cellphone for all of my accounts, new and old, and they always work. I've never been prompted to use a landline. Maybe because I'm from Canada? Oh boy I hope this doesn't change in the future... I always get scared posting stuff like this.... for fear it will shine a light for EB to see and step in...

your in a diff. country then me
diff. country have diff. rules and regulations.
canada are one of the better countries to sign up in as they are more easy going with you.
