is is safe to use a skype number now as a verification number for paypal and ebay?

EDIT: Nevermind, Microsoft owns Skype now. (eBay used to) However, I'm still uncertain if it's safe or not. Haven't used Skype for this...

anyone have any ideas on this question who has used thiS? i can get a number from somewhere else, i just happen to have one around and it would come in handy to use.

Yes Microsoft NOW owns Skype but if you read this PayPal Annual Privacy and Error Resolution Notice that they email to everybody you will see this.

very scary what they take from us

Well they take pretty much all what they can. You should operate wisely. However, you can always use other services and forward calls to your skype phone number.

Just curious how they can get skype ID from skype phone number? Is it really possible?

I am wondering how badly Skype numbers get rehashed?
