I noticed when I forward my google number to my phone the google phone voice mail works only when the phone is left on other than that it would go to my phones original voice mail. Is there a setting in google voice I'm overlooking??

Whoa I didn't know this. Are you saying if your phone is powered down, someone calling your google voice number (which is forwarded to your real phone number) will get your real voicemail?

Yes I tried it and that is when i freaked. Know i leave the phones on 24/7!!!

Another option would be to enable the "Do Not Disturb" feature on Google Voice..

That is why I have a tracfone attached for each Google voice. Good living as far as I am concerned.

I have 5 surge protectors with 12 slots each and each slot has a phone plugged in 24-7.

I always keep the phones up to date and with time on them etc.

None of my phones ever power down or run out of usage time.

You almost have to on your main accounts anymore because you just never know when they are going to call.

I think it was Yotano who said he was able to use "She is in the shower can I help you" and got away with no problem just wanted to make sure we had the correct phone number.

I don't keep that close of attention on the phone numbers to be honest. I use one Google voice per tracfone. I guess because I really have any issues on eBay I haven't had any problems. Although two or three weeks ago I was gone for a few days and some guy purchased something the wrong size sent like 10 emails then requested user info. I had to confirm my phone before I could list anything again after that. That has been my only hold up. Phone wise.
