Do Tracphones still work for Ebay?
 

I am seeing mixed results on this fourm about Tracphones and if they still work to verify accounts. Does Paypal still want a landline? Or should I find another phone to use? I am just asking because I just don't want to buy a phone and have not not work and spend more money on a new phone.

As far as I know Tracfones work just perfect for opening a sellers account. The mixed results you may be seeing is where Tracfone will not work if the account is limited and paypal want's to verify the phone belongs to the user, in that case tracfone doesn't work.

They work for ebay but will NOT WORK to confirm location if you are asked by paypal.

Just avoid doing anything that gets paypal to ask you to confirm your location.

So what should I use for Paypal? Its been 5 years since I signed up with Paypal so I don't know. Do they require a phone number when you sign up with PayPal?

You can use the tracfone for PayPal. As we said it only does not work IF PayPal at some point tries to verify location. For signing up its no problem.

No phone is required to sign up for paypal but you really need a working phone for all accounts.

As I state and MM also posted if it comes to a point that pp requires you to confirm location it will not work for that.

Tracfones work great and you can even buy them on eb for $8 & free freight. I always try to buy them at the dollar store when they are on sale & I buy a few extra.
