What to use for stealth telephone number?

So, I'm now reading on here that google voice is probably not the way to go for a new telephone number. What is the braintrust in here recommending as an alternative?

Tracfone works fine, can you please set your flag to your Country....it helps give better advice.

Google Voice works but the actual amount of numbers sometimes can be very low.
