I wonder if it is all 3rd party apps , or only some? There are some actual Google voice apps as well, so it's not really a big deal ( to me) at least.

Talkatone is not working well already.

Google has released their own voice app and works great.

This has always confused me. Ive read about this for what seems like EVER now.. And I guess it's confused me because you are able to still sign up for the service through gvoice without issue or warning and always have been able to (unless something has changed this very week??) ..

So, this ONLY affects APPS and nothing else? So, for someone like me who is strictly using gvoice through my desktop/gmail and not using it through any apps currently, then I shouldn't be affected in any way?

Whenever I heard about this, I always thought that the entire service was disappearing all together and all numbers were going to be gone for good...

Perhaps someone can clear this up for me? Thanks.

Google voice will still be operating, what is shutting down is all 3rd party apps , Apps that were not created by google

I am making a few ebay accounts to age and start selling soon. I will try Google voice (on my PC, not phone app) to operate my laptop.

Careful only numbers you will get are used and abused numbers.
