Tracfone not receiving Paypal Text??
 

Hi all,

Setting up my first Stealth. Following all the steps and just tried to confirm my phone# on Paypal. I activated my tracfone, then went to the site and registered my stealth street address and zip code on the phone. I tested the phone myself by sending texts to it no problem.

Just tried to get verification code sent by Paypal and not getting it. I only tried once and am posting here before trying again.

Anyone know why the text may not be going through?

I experienced that all day time with tracfones and Paypal. I can't never receive their text;however I can get text from ebay and everyone else. I don't know why...

Well SS, we must be missing something, because I have not seen anyone mention trouble with verifying Paypal with tracfone. Will keep researching and hopefully someone here may have an idea. Will post it here if I find out anything helpful.

Few members did repot that Paypal SMS doesnt go thru tracfone anymore

tracfone still works. Sometimes you have to try different phone models.

maybe paypal is down. ebay was down the other day from 340 am intill about 140pm

Literally just set up 2 accounts and received SMS from PP. Using the LG440G and Samsung S150g. For a while I did not get the SMS's from PP but that has been a while since that happened last. Hope this helps.

I use the LG tracfone that sells for like $14.95, flip type...I have done over 30 using that phone for all, and never had a problem to date.

funny thing is I made a paypal account a week ago and used the LG440G and it worked. Did the same thing today with a new account and got another LG and this time I couldn't get sms messages from it. So I looked around google and found that other members here are also having problems:(

I opened a couple of accounts back in March with Google Voice and worked fine. I can't seem to be able to do this anymore. Anyone has the same problem? The texts don't come through to Google Voice

i had a question about tracfone can they see the name the account was registered or just zip code?

Paypal wouldn't be able to see the name on your Tracfone account.

Had this problem with paypal yesterday too. And it was not with Tracfone but with w app I use for a phone number..

Just bought Tracfone - LG440G yesterday and it isn't receiving the text message from Paypal. Any advice?

I'm also having issues verifying via text with PP using a Tracfone Samsung S150g on two of my Accounts.

Per PP,
"Your mobile number was added, but there was a problem sending the code to confirm it. Make sure your number is correct and try sending the code again."

Zip codes, names, etc... all match.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Sometimes you just have to wait, or keep trying other numbers it will eventually go thru.

Do your tracfones have blue or a black writing on the white SIM card? Most of the time the black writing SIM cards will receive the texts while the blue colored ones will not. Also, tracfones will not receive short codes (also known as premium sms messages). In certain areas of signing up and confirming things throughout PP they will try and send the shortcode texts, which a tracfone will not receive (and for that matter GV does not receive shortcode texts as well).

How do you make sure the SIM cards are black when you buy the phone? Can you order black SIM cards. I just checked all my phones and you were 100% correct. Thanks for any advice or help.

The LG tracfones will not receive the texts. The Samsung tracfones will. Same price too, but the LG flip phones don't get the texts. Don't ask me why, but I've set up enough to know this. Go buy the $5 Samsung tracfones they will work for you...

Stop spreading false information, I've LG flip phones that receive all text while I've some Samsung that don't, it's not the brand of the phone!

True information. But I can only say I've tested about 20 of each phones. I don't have any Samsung that don't receive texts and I don't have any LG phones that will.

So when you do your phone verification with paypal you guys only use sms for phone verification?

Why dont you guys ever let paypal call you and let them give you an automated pin to enter?
