Default What do you do with your spent phones?

Just curious here.

I have a box of about 200 tracfones that I've used to create accounts. Activated to create accounts and them after 60 days I let them drop out of service.

As far as I can tell I'd need a card to reactivate, so it's cheaper for me to just buy a new phone.

What do you do with your spent phones? I hate to throw them out. Thought of selling the chargers on ebay to build feedback(because I only have a few unwrapped, rest still in wrapper).

Sell them as a bundle with included minutes on eBay?

The chargers sell pretty easily on ebay, I use to sell them cause I had so many but I got tired of shipping them so I just started donating them in bulk

They just lie there in a huge stack. Maybe will use some of them later, but more probably will dump them, they cost 1.49 Eur here, and are valid for 1 yr.

It seems to be a common problem.

It is sad that I can buy a new phone for the cost to activate one of the ones I already have.

Muzzie, lucky you! I wish these lasted longer than 60 days.

There are operating expenses, any business has them. Most businessmen could only dream that opening a business would cost them 5 eur + price of items

So what if eBay calls you and requests that you call them back within 48 hours or your account is done? What do you do? Is it safe to update the phone #'s on the accounts with fresh tracfone #'s?

aking,
I don't keep live phones on the account(and am not looking for any opinions on this). If I need to talk to EB I just activate a new phone that isn't tied to any account

That's going to backfire.

What about paypal?

Suggest you read ALL the issues users are having with paypal & phone numbers.

ebay itself called one of the users the other day.

Better practice to have an active phone number.

It seems that nothing bad would happen if the phone is turned off. They just limit the account, and ask to call them back. A couple of questions and limitation is removed. Or am I wrong?

I personally will only call eBay on the number that is registered to the account. You call from a different # I'm sure they will question it. May or may not be a big deal.

oh dear me.

Instead of dishing out these pearlers of MISINFORMATION, please read the forum.

What sensible user would want their paypal account limited and have to call in to resolve issues?

You need to do better than you are with your oh so many posts bordering on ......

It is my personal point of view, maybe it's because I like to talk with people, even with paypal

How funny that you'd quote my post stating I don't want opinions on my phone practices.

I know what works for me. You don't. I'm very happy with my stealth processes and my bank account proves that.

Also do try to read properly. I spoke of paypal. Not noticed you said you were not using them. Be careful of phones & paypal

dont post if you dont want comments.

You dont decide what others say in reply.
