Exactly I tried to explain this to people and how I had to order them online for almost 7 bucks each due to shipping. I guess it's just not only in my city!

So does best buy and everywhere else but they are all sold out in my city. Either someone is a stealth account maker pro in my city or drug dealers are final actually ALL using burners now instead of the minority of them.

TracFones represent a LOT of opportunities. People use them for all sorts of things, both legal and illegal. Some people resell them. Others unlock them and resell them. Even though the $5 ones that are on sale are not exactly the latest iPhones, they are worth more than $5. So, naturally, they sell out quickly.

An acquaintance of mine works at the Family Dollar and she lets me know when they are on sale. If I want any, she will put a few on the side for me. And she does not enforce the limits for me either, which is nice if I need more than 2 phones (I don't know if that is store policy or TracFone's policy).

Always be nice to people and don't be afraid to ask for small favors. And don't be a jerk, reciprocate. Help them out when you can, or give them something. It works wonders.

I know it's not tracfone policy because I just ordered 6 (which is their limit per email) but they cost 5.99 plus shipping which makes them almost 7 each. I just tried using the T-Mobile one and I hate it. They require minimum 10 bucks and they don't have preliminary mins like I was told. So they come out to be 12.50 just to receive a simple text.

I bought some from Wal-Mart a few years back. They have a policy of not selling more than I think two at one time. The geezer who was working there basically accused me of being a drug dealer.

I bet every member of this forum is on the NSAs watchlist for being suspected of drug-dealing and/or terrorist activities, due to our large and frequent purchases of Tracfones.

I only wish that were true! But cheers, one day I may just do a Tracfone charity/lottery. Not a bad idea, a forum giveaway, if the mods approve it! :)
