How would you answer these questions?

How would you answer these questions if eBay asked you (and you dropship)?

1) Where do you get your items (source)?
2) How do you get pictures for your products?

I was suspended for photo copyrights (VeRO). These questions were asked of me when I called in to ask why I was suspended. I dont think it mattered at this point but I tried...

This is how I responded.

1) "It depends on the product. We have a number of sources." (vague)
2) "Our vendors send them to us along with the descriptions."
+) Then they asked, "who are your vendors?". Then I refer them to the first answer. However, they are like robots and they keep repeating themselves in an endless loop. Eventually, I just said, "a business' source is not something you just go out and ask someone for. The source is the heart of the business. It is what makes the business successful. I don't know you. You dont work for me. That information is private to my business. I can't believe you are asking for that."

I know ebay is filled with dropshippers. How do they answer these questions? Answering these 3 seems like a roadblock that eBay puts in place to take you out.

Thoughts?

you're right that its not ebay or anyone elses business to know who your wholesalers are but its the way ebay works. they pry pry and pry some more and if you dont humor them you're done with ebay.

You can tell ebay that it is none of their business until you are blue in the face. They will stick to their script and continue to ask the same question. You can either give up the source to them or you can make a new account.

...

just a word of advice. a good lie is one that is nice and full of nuances.

with no background to your story:

1. i source my items predominantly from suppliers from alibaba, et al.

2. where did i get the photos from? the vendor from whom i obtained the items provided them and advised i could use them provided that i didn't stock any of his competitors goods. i did so in good faith, but i accept that i still should have exercised prudence before using them in my listings.

Happened to me years ago.

I just gave the some random suppliers that I searched on Google, I don't know if I got lucky, but it worked

If you sell VeRO:

1) Where do you get your items (source)?

I buy them from the local distributor called "XXX", here is their website. Here are some invoices attached.

Some creativity with REAL local distributor invoices is really useful ;)

2) How do you get pictures for your products?

I took them from supplier's website.

Of course, if you have custom pictures, you should write that you've done it yourself. I personally always do custom photos, as EB bots don't really like when like 10 listings from different sellers have the same stock photo
