Does it matter what kind of cell phone that I use to hook up to Ebay?
 

Just wondering if it matters to Ebay/Paypal which Cell phone that I purchase to hook up to a new or already existing account?

I used to use the Vigin PayLo phones 2 years ago...
And recently have used the Trac-Phone a few times...

I just wasn't sure if there was a better phone or option or if they are all received the same?

I know that some of the companies have recycled their numbers in the past and you could end up possibly getting an old number that was once recognized as attached to a previous ebay/PP account that was suspended or limited.
I know the likelihood of having a "Tainted" number is very slim but are there any other issues or reasons why a particular phone might work better for either the general verification or just the "Trust-ability" Factor?


Any thoughts on which phones are best and the reasons behind them would be very helpful :-)

Should be fine with Tracfone.

I think it's a linked AD. By clicking on it, it will bring you to its website and if you buy anything through it, it pays the site which brings the sales:lol:

AT&T go phone is your best choice. I bought one for 8 bucks at Walmart and the Sim card is $10 a month. New number, new life..... I've heard a lot of sketchy things about the track phone. Just my opinion

Can ebay or paypal see the name attached to the phone when you call in?
What name do you put the phone in?

I checked with AT&T, it appears the cheapest go phone has a $30 monthly
fee for unlimited talk and text.

If you don't want unlimited talk and text, you can purchase an ATT phone anywhere
or use an old AT&T phone that you have at home and have a go phone account
for $2 per day to talk.
I'm not sure how that works, how much you have to use the phone per month
in order to keep the number active. I am going there in a bit to activate an older
phone of mine so I will find out.
