Everybody above is stupid except for the guy who asked the question. Yes you can use textfree, pinger and plenty of other viop alternatives I have over 30 pinger accounts on different paypals and ebays which I have been using for years. Most of the dumb ass members are going to say avoid using something they haven't even used them selves. In this case going free is perfectly fine my friend. Just remember to use your pinger number atleast once a month or it will expires. Besides from that your good to go.

Although I agree with above, it is inaccurate for your answer. Text plus will not verify paypal. Non of the apps do. That being said your paypal is 100% fine without it.

Text plus will pull mostly 0-0 selling limits. A few exceptions and tricks such as building your accounts in the same area as the free number comes from on a google search for starters. Next would be learning how to call in on 0-0 accounts and getting limits.

It doesn't work, there was a free app on google play store but only for 30 seconds

If you are referring to paypal, then go with tracfone or google voice. If you are referring to ebay, then dont use google voice.

So a guy in China is supposed to buy a prepaid phone in China for use with his US paypal account?
And how is THAT supposed to work exactly...?

Find a real person on Fiverr and pay him 5 bucks to receive the verification code for you.

Just a word of advice - dont get a number just for one time verification. Ensure you keep the number active throughout the duration of the stealth account. You will more than likely encounter issues on Paypal whereby they are requesting you to verify your phone number, so that they can verify your identity, i.e. when you logon from a new computer.

The guy on Fiverr might not be around, and your paypal account, and the funds within it will be at jeopardy.

Its a tough decision if you live outside the US. You basically have 2 choices

1- somehow get a real US number, but you cannot access it outside the US
2- use an online service, which leads to lower quality accounts (as can be seen by getting multiple 0/0 or 5/500s)

The user has to decide what is best for them, some prefer to use the free apps while others would rather pay more for a solid phone number, even if they cannot access it.
