Is this a good thing or bad thing or should i be worried Keep in mind it Clearance Processing Complete at CINCINNATI HUB - USA thru Customs

DHL The shipment is awaiting the next scheduled movement???

How long has it been sitting there? Doubt it is anything to worry about, especially with the holiday madness that is starting things will move a little slower

Call them, lol. I'll bet this won't be the only thread about this today.

I woke up this morning to see the 4 shipments I was expecting today all "on hold" at the Cinci airport. I immediately called the local DHL warehouse, and they told me the pilots contracted to fly DHL's planes went on strike this morning. The DHL guy says what the pilots are doing is illegal due to their contract and the critical nature of DHL shipments. I've barely got anything in stock because of this sh*t.

Anyway he told me they are in court right now (this was around 10AM) and everything should be resolved by noon. Unfortunately though if the shipments aren't on a plane first thing in the morning, they won't go out until the next day.

So OP, don't worry. It's just a labor dispute. Your tracking results will be updated tomorrow.

I just hope it gets cleared up. I just got off the phone with DHL again. Even though a judge was allegedly supposed to force the pilots back to work this morning, nothing has happened yet.

I hate unions. They are communist and shouldn't be allowed in USA. All a union does is drive whatever industry they represent into the ground. :(

if packages are on the ground in cinn.. why do pilots on strike have anything to do with it ? And btw got 2 packages sitting in cinn.. too :(

Because they get airmailed to local terminals. No flying, then not movement.

Japan's earthquake has effected my Fedex deliveries. This may also effect some UPS and DHL deliveries to because now other hubs like SK and TW are busier.

Its been over 24hrs and my packages in dhl cinn still on hold "unbelievable"

Same here. I've been talking to the DHL guys every few hours to get updates. As of this morning the latest news is the union and DHL are going before a federal judge at noon. From what I've gathered it's illegal for airline or railroad workers who transport commodities to strike like this. So hopefully they will be forced back to work. Damn unions....

I asked if I could drive to the hub and pick up the shipments myself, but I can't. They say all the shipments "on hold" are already packed on airplanes and waiting to go out, there's just no pilots to fly them.

@bluegrass - Because DHL uses air transport for all but the final mile with express shipments. I asked the DHL guy this morning why they can't just send a few trucks since we are only a few hundred miles away. He told me the entire country is being affected by this, and they simply don't have enough trucks or drivers to accommodate all the backlogged shipments.

Weird thing just happened I checked my tracking number and it went back to the message Processed at Cincinnati Hub and now it reads Shipping on Hold again that's strange...... DID IT HAPPEN TO YOURS ALSO

I've got a few saying that now too. Any shipments that were scheduled to leave HK today have that status because there won't be any DHL employees working at the Cinci hub tomorrow to process the shipments.

Any shipments already in USA since Monday or Tuesday just say "on hold."

Good news is a federal judge has ended the illegal strike and forced the pilots back to work. Sooo, all of our backlogged shipments will be delivered on Friday. :clap::clap::clap::clap:

^^I've had that happen several times in the past. It's nothing to worry about. DHL got so screwed up by those pilots last week that they are still trying to get caught up.

Most of the time I'll see that message when a shipment has multiple pieces and not all of the pieces arrive on the same plane. DHL will sometimes wait until the rest of the shipment arrives before forwarding to the local delivery facility.

Is your shipment more than one piece, bluegrass? If not, it just means they didn't have room on the plane for your shipment and it will move tomorrow.

Don't sweat it. It's already gone through customs. This is just DHL trying to get back to normal.

no just one piece and i didnt see the processing complete so i was thinkin it was more a customs thing and not dhl. its unbranded BUT under valued as well so i was hoping its more on dhl end .

Call your local DHL warehouse if you want a definitive answer, but I still don't think you have anything to worry about. We got in 3 shipments just now and all 3 were partial deliveries with either 1/2 or 1/3 pieces actually arriving today. I called DHL because I've never had 3 partial deliveries on the same day. The guy told me all of the other pieces just reached Cinci this morning around 9:30, so it was too late to put them on today's plane. In my case all of the rest should be here tomorrow. In your case, the shipment didn't go out on a plane this morning so you will also get yours tomorrow. That's what I'm betting.

Fedex and UPS are waaaaayyyyyyy behind because of this DHL disaster lol 5 days to get scanned into Fedex after they receive it in Ningbo right now.
