What carrier is handling my incoming delivery?
Hello everyone, just have a couple questions if anyone wouldn't mind!
I am expecting a letter from the Netherlands (Marked as shipped on March 23). I am in Los Angeles, California USA.
It was sent with the cheapest form of shipping, but I was not able to get a tracking number/invoice number, or any information about what carrier is shipping it. Now I read that PostNL is the biggest carrier in the Netherlands, and it brings up a question.
When the letter reaches the USA, who would be receiving the package? UPS/USPS/DHL/FEDEX?
So it has been just about 2 weeks now (counting sundays), and no sign of it yet. I have read that international packages can sometimes take over a month, especially with US customs being so slow and "secure".
I signed up for informed delivery, and it is cool to see all the incoming mail before it arrives. I was wondering if I could even rely on it, because I think my order will be sent in a padded envelope (hopefully) so it isn't completely broken.
Also, informed delivery is for USPS so it would be great to know who the hell is actually going to be the carrier of my letter. When international mail is sent, it goes to USPS by default right? I am guessing they might be able to send it through UPS for example, and then I would get it through UPS. But when they use their local carrier, who is in charge of it when it reaches the US?
