Shipping from China to Europe.

I contacted some suppliers in China and they basically offer three kinds of shipping:

1. By Air.

2. By Truck.

3. By Sea (For large quantities).


As you know I have to pay import tax when I bring stuff from China, which is 19% for where I live in the EU.

Some suppliers are talking about special shipping lines and forwarders and claiming that these shipping methods will scrap the import tax on my part!


This smells very fishy to me. Any thoughts?

They will just under declare the value I expect.

Import tax is changed by the government and payable to them. Shipping companies cannot get around that as far as I am aware

Ok so here is how the shipping will go as far as I understood:


China > Forwarding company in the UK > My address.


The supplier is claiming that custom fees and import tax will be paid by the forwarder and then shipped to me.


I guess you're right. They will under declare the value of the goods to circumvent the import tax. So after all I will be the one carrying the risk for tax evasion (Not a good idea)

Yes, they are many ways to bypass import tax from higher amount to lower amount. They just declare the product price very cheap

Tax can be avoided if you know the right connection

Well it's illegal. They send it to the UK first as Germanys customs is much stricter, the UK hardly ever checks it lol, then once it's in the EU it's easy to get to Germany.
