shipping clearance DHL
 

so i ordered a while ago from ebay "pokemon yellow" for the gameboy.

the package includes 1 gameboy cartridge which is the game and 3-4 smal booklets.

now it says it says : Further Detail:
The Clearance process for this shipment is on-going with additional details required for clearance

Next Step:
The clearance process will continue once the additional details are provided for clearance

i do not understand why would custom check that? there is hardly any value for this package (except for collectors purposes) just 1 gameboy game and 6 small booklets (not even books) i dont know how to put picture of what the package includes but its exactly how i said nothing more and nothing less.

last update was on 13/8/18 at 20:30 PM : 10 Clearance event CARACAS - VENEZUELA 20:35

package is sent from polamar venezueala to thailand

seller on eby says dont worry its normal procedure in his country but i dont know if i should worry or not. arrival date of the package says 16th of august which is in 2 days.

I wouldn't be worried at this point. It looks like DHL needs documentation from the shipper. Maybe the customs declaration was missing. I've heard it's very difficult to ship to/from Venezuela with the current situation there so I assume delays are normal.

You could ask the shipper if DHL has contacted him about the missing documentation.

it already said processed at caracas before then clearance now it says processed again does this mean all is ok?

actually as opposed to other people i ordered this game for my collection and own enjoyment not for making profit or whatever and it is really just a gameboy cratridge and some booklets of the pokemon gameboy game.

anyway now the tracker update as of 22:12 yesterday night and now says again clearance event wtf you can buy those gameboy games for like 4$ at garage sales in other countries

lol i find it weird to hear specially as im an israeli living in thailand.

so you say still not to worry even if 13-14/8 it's still on clearing event?

its outrageous that they said it will arrive to me on 16th of august and now is the 15th and its still not out from VE.

well as the situation is now ill be grateful if it just arrives here already by the end of the month.

eBay probably quoted you an estimated delivery date based on how long DHL would take to deliver the shipment if it had been shipped from any other country. I've made a few friends in VE over the years and they describe the country like there isn't enough fresh water and electricity to go around - with corruption being rampant. VE residents have to use a private shipping service like UPS or DHL because if they use the Venezuelan postal service there is a high chance their shipment will be stolen by postal employees. I know that's irrelevant for your situation, but I'm trying to give you an idea what it's like to ship from there.

Before you assume the worst and start some kind of claim against the seller, I recommend you wait the 14-21 days that the seller quoted you. I know that's a very long time to wait for a DHL shipment but the seller has probably experienced this before, so I assume they have some idea what they are talking about. Venezuela is an extremely poor country so you would probably do a lot of damage to the seller by starting a claim.

thanks for the explanation mate, i didnt think yet about opening a claim againts him but 14-21 does sound very long for DHL and if the VE post office is that bad i dont see how the DHL is any better with this unexplainable delay as there is nothing suspicous to be found in this package. i would even go as far as telling them to just open it to see whats inside and that's it as i know there is nothing wrong inside this package. i guess ill wait another 15 days until the end of this month and see what happens though if there is no change in clearance event for like a wekk its probably lost and i will ask for my money to be refunded to me.

By day 15 they should have beaten the game and the package will be released.

Haha I hear ya. I ordered a razor mouse from Thailand off Ebay and US customs held it for about a month. They're usually cautious of sellers importing knockoffs but since it is just the one cartridge I have a good feeling it'll be released. Probably just needs some sort of processing that takes a little time.

yup its just a gameboy game cartridge and the game manual booklet with a flyer advertisement of pokemon thats it.

anyway as of 15/8 still updated as clearance event :(

thats the answer i got in the chat with dhl thailand regarding my package :

" DHL Venezuela informed that "the delay is because the shipemnt is waiting a routine inspection by National Guard & Venezuealian Customs Authorities to proceed with final export. No paperworks are required, and DHL can't expedite this process. If they need something from customers, they will let us know. Please wait patiently for the outcome."

and if you guys say that VE is corrupted, whats stopping from them from just stealing my package with no reason?

The legal ramifications along with losing your job are pretty solid deterrents for stealing. I'm guessing there are extra protocols for certain types of goods i.e. electronics that need to be double checked / inspected. I wouldn't worry too much.

Stolen shipments are a real possibility in VE, but they used DHL so I think you'll be fine.

I shipped a cheap smartphone to a friend of mine I met online who lives in VE. It was stolen shortly after entering the country.

Sadly, unless you have someone to contact in the customs there, there is not much anyone can provide for a guarantee but just to wait it out.

No, just their regular postal service since I shipped through USPS. Learned my lesson then.

Your shipment is probably sitting on a palette in a warehouse waiting to be inspected. For what it's worth, I think you'll get it.

Yellow Version -that's cool. Red was my favorite.

i got the blue for my collection with box and everything from hong kong and the jap versions from japa got thosein no time.

i probably wont buy anything from VE again even if my package will arrive

its the 21/8 today and last update from 20/8 says still clearance event. in live chat they say VE only say its in custom inspection.

i try to get refund from the seller but ebay wont let me since it says it will arrive not later then 7 september and i dont see how is that happening

this is an email i got from DHL this morning :

There nothing is needed to export shpm, the delay is because shipment is waiting a routine inspection at CCS and MIQ by National guard & customs authorities to proceed with final export, No ppwk required from shipper or consignee. DHL can´t expedite this process, and we should only gave verbal info about this at customers, If they need something from shipper or consignee, they will let customer know, for now you can invite to customer to continue monitoring through our website www.dhl.com.
DHL don’t have an estimated clearance time, please wait patiently and monitor for the outcome and they didn't contact to customer about shipment inspection at destination till shipment will release or any paperwork requested from customs.

So, customer have to wait for outcome because we cannot push or do anything with customs in each country.
If any paperwork request, we will let customer know.
Sorry for this inconvenience. I will update you more than last week ka.

so good news it finally left caracas to maiquatia bad news is now its in clearance event again. it was already 9 days on clearance in caracas and now all over again in maiquatia wtf is wrong with this country?

Hello! I know it's been a while since you posted the message but did you ever received your package? I am having the exact same problem right now with a package from Venezuela. After 9 days in a "Clearance Event" in Caracas, it finally changed today. Now I got again the "Clearance Event" in Maiquetia along with a text message saying there's a "delay".

If you can please help me by letting me know how long did it take for you to receive the package after your last post.
