USPS issue? In Transit, Arriving Late

Are you experiencing USPS delivery issue?
Last month, USPS showed " In Transit, Arriving Late " and after 3 weeks, the box never reached the destination. The box didn't have any scan after this " arriving late" tracking.

Today I have another box that shows this troubling message"
In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility. "

Wondering if you have the same issue as me?
Thanks.

Whenever I see this it's later due to package being lost, lost then found 2 weeks later or damaged.

Could ship them another one if it's not too expensive and ask them if the second package shows up to refuse delivery and have it returned by USPS.

WOW. This is really a terrible signal. This is really bad. There are thieves out there.

It's usually damaged and tossed in my case. Packages never get updated :/

SOMETIMES they're lost and show up much later... or just delayed from weather... who knows maybe they're down a mail carrier :noidea:

EDIT: Doesnt mean it's the same for you - just 90% of the time in my instance.

Thank you.
I notice that this message only happened to the packages that packaged in the prority mailbox (sealed with clear tape to make it more secure) and not the small 1st class parcels. Therefore I think the larger boxes are the targeted victims.
It is really terrible.
This issue only started this year.

Yikes idk if USPS employees are stealing packages. That's low... Priority Mail is insured up to $100 if damaged or undelivered/lost.. got my money back a few times..

Yeah.. you need to go on USPS.com and first start a missing mail search. Then if the tracking isn't showing updates after a week you should start a claim through Priority mail insurance.

It's pretty common for us with every class of mail. This happens to roughly the same amount of First Class and Priority shipments for us. It's usually just a case of the shipment falling off a conveyor belt at a sorting facility or something similar bc they almost always resume transit a few days later.

Yes already filed a claim for the one that was lost however I am not sure if I will really get a check.
USPS knows that the sender is not located in the USA when they see the shipping label.

I read on other sites that USPS made excuses denying the claims sometimes.
For example, one person said that USPS denied the claim because the package was delivered later with nothing in the box.
Another case was that usps said the package was returned to the sender but it never arrived.

If they don't issue a claim, I cannot walk straight to a post office to speak to someone..

Yeah.. your location might be an issue. I don't know if they'll send checks to forwarding addresses and they're the postal service so they know all the forwarding addresses. It's worth a shot though.

For what it's worth I've never had any problems with USPS insurance or the 3rd party insurance stamps.com uses. I've only ever filed for lost shipments but they've always paid out.

Your mail carrier could walk up to your house and punt the package over the roof into the backyard and not be held liable for anything if it's not insured.

The other fav is they'll deliver it to a neighbor, buyer never recieves it and it's not covered by policy as 'USPS did their part.' Nice.

That's saved me so many times in eBay INR cases.

"Tracking confirms delivery in your zip code - please escalate your case for review by eBay"

Yea tracking is the best and worst invention ever. It's such a pain that AMZ just wants you to 'ship' on time, then the tracking screen just shows checkpoints to the buyer on the tracking page. No 'arrived here', 'delayed there' BS

Would be GREAT if Ebay did the same. Saves a lot of headache from anxious / toxic buyers.

How do ya'll file a claim when you have stealth address. Doesn't USPS send a check to the address registered on the account? How do you get around this?

Ship with your name and address outside of eBay.
