DHL Package 1 week in Cincinnati. Should I be worried?
 

I have a small package to be shipped from Toronto to Lebanon last Friday May 8, which I had done two other times successfully without any delay. Since Customs Status Updated (shipment given release by custom) notification received just before midnight on same day May 8, the package is stuck at Cincinnati, now for a week, merely going around in circle it seems as the last tracking says exactly the same thing: Customs Status Updated, on May 14. I have enlisted help of customer care advisor on May 11 and they still have not been able to tell me where the package is and what happens to it. Should I be worried at this time that perhaps it is now LOST? The last two times my package shipped to the same destination in Lebanon just breezed through Cincinnati hub in hours, took not even half a day. That's why I got concern on Monday, May 11 when there was no progression on tracking activities. Please advise. Thank you!

I wouldn't worry about it yet. There simply are not enough airplanes in the skies to carry all of the shipments everywhere right now. This will change as travel restrictions and the public trust concerning safe flying improves. It'll take a while.
Once a package is siezed, notice on the dhl website alerts you pretty quick, and since it's just sitting in Cincinnati without that notice, I think it'll be fine.

It has been two weeks now, still no update from DHL and customer care advisor has not been able to track it down. I am not sure if it is due to lack of planes to fly cargoes, because my two previous shipments all within past 1.5 months amidst COVID-19 pandemic have had no issue whatsoever...they got delivered promptly within 5-6 days. Yes, Canada is a big country, but sparse population and so DHL does not have a hub here. I hope it is just waiting to clear custom. Thank you for all your responses.
