USPS to Canada tracking and delivery problem

Hi guys

My friend in NY helped me sent a couple of parcels from NY to Canada since July. I have now receive dispute from Canada customers claim they didnt receive any thing.

I tried to trace the tracking number given by USPS.
take the following 2 for example: (randomly selected from all shipment)
LC672253527US
LC557227822US

Your item was processed through and left our JAMAICA, NY 11430 facility on July 27, 2010. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

no further update and i was confused as according to usps staff it should only take less than 10 days to Canada.

Any idea why no update on tracking and no delivery?:help:

Long delays in tracking international stuff. Also depends on the item.

If it was delivered, than the status should have been changed....I don't know what to think...I learned my lesson half a year ago and only ship now via USPS Express mail ( I also add an insurance)...you can track it this way

i can understand the slow on tracking international post.

is the delivery also slow? i really dont think delivery to Canada would take more than 1 week.

i have dispute from Canadian customer who's parcel was sent mid July. also 2-3 Canadian customer emails me asking why they havent receive their order

The numbers you posted don't show on Canada Post.

And appears to have been stopped dead in New York. Are these something that would get seized by customs?

rock45 08-12-2010 11:40 AM

no. they are regular mugs under value of 20 us dollars.

pod 08-12-2010 11:43 AM

Hmmm. They stopped dead in NY 10 days ago. I have had the odd package that tracking was never updated, but they did get delivered. But a few at once is very odd. And if its not showing on Canada Post site at all they have not even left the US yet

rock45 08-12-2010 11:48 AM

that's why it's bother me..
what took you so long USPS!!
nearly all parcel sent to Canada from beginning of July to last week has the same status: leaving NY

All to different destinations?

Something is clearly wrong. When you call USPS don't let them just look at the screen and tell you what you already know. Something is amiss and they need to step up and find out what happened.

And it wont be easy. I once had 7 packages all go missing in one week worth almost $5000 and nobody would help. It took me 6 weeks to finally get everything back and destroyed my paypal account. Push hard!

Really need more details - was the postal code properly marked? Item clearly identified? Maybe your friend botched a bit?

I have sometimes had problems with receive packages from US - maybe 1 per 50 gets lost or so but in general, delivery is solid.

yep all to different destinations. i'll talk to them.
thank you pod

Thats the customs number. It never updates once it leaves the local post office.

Yeah, that is always what i have been told. Those are not tracking number, but numbers for USPS internal security.
My local PO tells me the only tracking to Canada is if you do overnight.

Canada-US postal woes

Hi!

It takes max 30 days for the items to be received from either Canada/USA via Canadapost or USPS. Just be courteous to your buyers and explain to them. This is true of both expedite/express post as well as the USPS services.
