Bypassing customs??

So... I had another hit NY ISC... It didn't even go 'inbound' just straight through to me. it's been doing this for months, then my last 3 hit customs in NY and SF.. Now it's back to usual , it doesn't even go into customs, or if it did it was never scanned. just straight through to my local PO for delivery

The airports and docks in NY are run by the mafia when it comes to flow.They get things to run fast without delays like through customs so in return they get to steal what ever they want. I made this up but I bet that's what goes on!

Yeah straight through, it's not the first time it's happened, it's happened many times out of new york. Recently out of the last 4 EMS 1 SF inbound, NY 2 inbound and 1 straight through. and 1 of the 2 inbound in new york, died to the evil customs hands

My theory is this is just the way their scanning system is set up. I'm sure that packages going through NY get inspected at random. But instead of the info lines that read "inbound to customs" and "outbound from customs" they just skip that if the package just passes through. At the other ports I often see things like

INBOUND TO CUSTOMS 8:32 AM
OUTBOUND FROM CUSTOMS 8:47AM

So the item passes through in 15 minutes and is never inspected. I think this happens with most items. They cannot have the labor to inspect them all. So, in theory, NY would be the same, but they don't bother with the updates.

HOWEVER - the longer your package sits in customs, the more likely it is to be seized. Anything more than 24 hours is a bad sign, unless it lands on a holiday or a weekend. Yes, there are members who have had items released after 2 weeks or more, but that is not the norm. The vast majority of people who ask about customs delays end up having their packages seized.

There is NO risk-free way to import this type of stuff. I don't care what ANYONE SAYS! YES, having a supplier that knows the ropes and how to package goods can help LESSEN the risks, but not ELIMINATE them.

If you are expecting to bring this stuff in with no risk, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

You can have 20 packages come in without a problem. Then package numbers 21, 22 and 23 get seized.

Customs seizures are on the rise in the US. The Obama administration has been very receptive to the brand owners and copyright owners when it comes to stopping the importing of counterfeits. Of course, they cannot catch EVERYTHING, but rumor has it that new technology is in place, and I believe that. We don't know exactly WHAT it is, but it most likely exists.

The bottom line is, if you are buying the "foo-foo" items as GB puts it, then you bear the risks. There is NO SUCH THING as easy money.

Unless an item is SMUGGLED into a country, (USA UK,Australia, EU countries) Customs are always involved.
An exported item leaves its country of origin and is transported to its destination. The paper-work is called a manifesto. It has a description of the items from sender name to final address. (Everything is there). That gets co-ordinated for the Customs of the country where it lands.
Items land in a secured area (holding area) that is controlled by Customs & Agriculture. If everything is OK with the info on that manifesto it just goes from that holding area and becomes available to be picked up. It clears regulations but as a cost saving measure, such items are not necessarily labelled 'cleared customs'.
Been that way with importations for years.....
What throws people off track is having an item held up by Customs. That usually means whatever is on the manifesto, way-bill goes under scrutiny. Sometimes it clears with a phone call ( if an import agent is used). If there are markers then the item can be delayed in final release or confiscated.
Regardless, items coming into a country as imports 'go through customs' or they were smuggled and not imported. LOL
Read teedon's posts. She always says that the PAPERWORK has to be filled out correctly. Correct preparation is how the items land sooner. If Customs dont like the paperwork, they hold the goods....

Paperwork, paper work and paperwork. This is the MOST important when importing items from other countries. I remember when I received a package from China, the supplier made the MOST stupidest invoice in the world and the customs did not believe the value as written. At the end, when I got the package, I was charged $200 in brokerage and customs. Now, DON'T make the same mistake or customs WILL pay more attention to the package. They even opened one of the items inside the package. Paperwork is an important essential when receiving items. I NEVER let ANY of my suppliers handle paperwork, I usually provide it for them.

Customs are NOT dumb, if a 21 KG package is only marked at $150 there going to be suspicious. Shipping alone from china costs $130 via DHL. I know the shipping costs as I have a shipping agent in China myself.

Also, make sure to put a GOOD description on the paperwork if you are importing foo-foo items. Thats where "most" suppliers fluke. Do your research before getting and selling a specific item. There will ALWAYS be risks involved in selling and receiving foo-foo items. Remember, there is a risk to everything. 50% of the people come back to the forum, crying, pleading, and begging for help after something goes wrong. Remember, the forum is NOT responsible for what you do!

I don't care if people sell foo-foo items. Let's teach the damn vero companies to price there items correctly instead of making mass profits. If they really wanted to avoid foo-foo items, then they could EASILY price the item right. Why help the rich get richer?

I would understand if the items were manufactured in the USA, but instead, to maximize there profits, they make them in countries such as china.

You can find a job alright working for one of the vero companies as long as they DON'T OUTSOURCE there employees!

That is the thing about phakes. Some are REALLY REALLY good. But some are JUST AWFUL!
