Ems too slow again?

Hey guys,

I have 5 small-ish parcels coming to me via China EMS. The first one, my seller says was shippied right on the 7th of October, after China Holiday. The EMS tracking doesn't say anything after the parel left sorting centre in Beijing on the 11th. Usually, after the parcels leave Beijing, it's on a plane to Australia straightaway and here in about 2-3 days times. But it's been over a week and no update. Getting a bit concerned here, and thought might ask the forumers here before starting to panic full on. My seller assures me that this has been the case with her other parcels sent on the same day as mine, and only because of China holiday. If anyone experiencing anything similar can can please reply, it'll save me a lot of sweating :)

Cheers!

I'm not in Australia, but I have also used EMS to receive merchandise. Once a package leaves Beijing, it can take anywhere from 2 days to 10 days to land in the US. My guess it that it is similar in Australia.

Even if a package is delayed, you will usually receive it. Very few packages are lost. For all their faults, the postal services in most countries do a pretty good job.

Of course, the above assumes the merchandise is legitimate. If it is counterfeit, or is otherwise illegal in Australia, then anything could happen when it reaches customs. Being in the US, I really don't know much about the Customs department in your country.

I get pretty much everything EMS and it usually takes 7-10 days to get to me.

Ems is slow, u just need a good supplier that will ship the right way. thats what its all about! Foofoos are always going to have the possibility or seizure but if you have the right suppliers they know what they are doing! They use multiple shippers and pack smaller boxes and ship in multiple boxes. Deal with suppliers that know what they are doing

It's been a long time since I've used EMS, but from memory EMS and Hong Kong post slow down considerably this time of year.

teedon 10-21-2010 02:25 AM

EMS is always slower than fedex, dhl, ups, but sometimes it will be fast.

I get my packages in about 5-6 days. It also includes transit time from NY all the way to near west coast. I remember when EMS was almost 2 full weeks about a year ago on average for me. Wonder why it is things are so much faster now.

Finally got the packages yesterday. Not proud to admit they are foo foos but small value ones, no LV handbangs or iphones, still foo foos. I've got two supplier, one who seems to know what he/she is doing and would rather ship them in small lots, the other one is ghastly though, had to spend half a day arguing with him/her, trying to convince to send them in small packages. Supplier refuses to do that on the grounds that it costs them more money, but better than losing it to customs and having to refund me the whole amount plus loss of goods I thought.

I also dont get how some packages arrive quicker than others, some take about 5-6 days to get to me and some well over two weeks. Ah well, as long as I receive them I am a happy girl :)

we can understand your supplier,as the profit is smaller day by day,so he do not want to make the packages to be too small, this way really cost too much money, and reducing too much profit.

EMS for me is always slow. Its usually 5-7 days for delivery. DHL for me is usually 3-4 days.

HurricaneHuntr 11-21-2010 01:19 PM

I dont consider 5-7 days slow... but right now its actually been 3-4 days oddly enough. Even as we get closer to christmas.. Less checks? i dunno

My last shipment 2 weeks ago from ems from china to usa took me 4 days,
The one i am currently waiting on is taking longer,
Last update i got was Despatch from Sorting Center in China on 11-25-2010,
It was shipped on 11-23-2010 in china,
Either ems is slow updating or something happened at us customs,

cardfelon 11-28-2010 04:40 PM

If something happened at us customs it would say "inbound to customs" for several days. If it stays like that for about 3 days then I would worry. I have had packages clear customs and be delivered to my address and the USPS website said it was still in customs. So the USPS site is not the most reliable.

youniverseonline 11-28-2010 04:57 PM

I checked both usps and ems website for update,
So far ems is way ahead of usps saying despatch from sorting center,
Here is how it looks,
2010-11-23 18:51:00 GUANGZHOU Posting
2010-11-23 20:41:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center
2010-11-24 16:05:00 GUANGZHOU Arrival at Sorting Center
2010-11-24 17:05:00 GUANGZHOU Handed over to Customs
2010-11-25 01:09:00 GUANGZHOU Released from Customs
2010-11-25 01:43:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center
I am hoping i get a update tomorrow sometime,
The last package i got 2 weeks ago was cleared us customs same day,
It was delivered all in the same day, that was from San Fransisco to Texas,
Total time for 4 days total from this same supplier,
Guess it could be just a little slower is all, Thanks
