USPS First Class problem
 
On the 17th I shipped about 25 packages, 3 of them were going to new york (I'm in PA) and they were sent USPS First Class. They all say processed through sort facility in Philadelphia on the 18th, and it's now the 26th and all 3 that were going to new york still say that and the buyers complained they never got their packages.

Did USPS lose them? Anything I can do about it other then just refund my buyers?

priority mail is the only way to go, you'll lose money on shipping but in the end if you setup an online account, you'll save a tiny bit on postage and instead of paying extra for delivery confirmation you can get it for free. Plus you can get any of the priority mail boxes or envelopes delivered to your door completely free. And you can arrange for pickups so you don't have to drop em off.

Do you have tracking for the packages? Were they insured?

Depending on what you sell, there may also be cheaper options. Using Endicia will get you discounts on Priority Mail. It will also let you get delivery confirmation on non-priority packages for 19 cents, as opposed to 80 cents at the counter. Not to mention, they have cheaper insurance for high value items.

But, for the problem at hand, you can call the USPS since you have the tracking numbers. They WILL try to locate them and find out what happened. But do not expect an instant answer. And if they were uninsured, then there would not be any reimbursement if they are lost.

These must have been small and light items to ship via first class. Did you hand them over the counter, or just drop in a mail box?
