New type of Seizures????
 

I had a package shipped with EMS from China and today It finally got to my home after sitting in customs for almost a week. When I opened it, instead of seeing my product I find a letter from customs saying that all things violating homeland security law have been seized. All they left was the bubble wrap and foam! I did not know they did this, this happened in San Francisco customs. And the worst part is that I opened a paypal dispute when the item was stuck in customs and closed it when the items got out of customs.

I'm so depressed over this

try contact the seller and maybe sort it out if he a nice enuff big seller i had a similar problem and i got a new item sent out

or contact your credit card company, if you used your funds from paypal, contact paypal and explain the situation...maybe they can do something about it.

I'll tell you this...replacements happen ON OCCASION...everything they sold to you (if replaced) will come out of pocket for another shipment. They really don't do this too much.

I wouldn't either...think about it, they make IF LUCKY around 300usd per month!

(and that 300 per month even applies to people selling on dhgate)

Normally they just send you a seizure letter

What if your supplier just put the letter in himself and never actually put anything in the box?

That really sucks. Was the stuff actually illegal to ship?

Markk, I was thinking that but was not sure if it was possible. Maybe you can tell from the weight difference and the shipping charges printed on the box? (Just an idea.)

Makes it hard to make a decision on a chargeback.

Not very likely seeing as it was in customs for so long also you can always just check the weight on the box.

That sucks, you can try to contact the seller, and tell him that you never received your package. Since you can't open up another paypal dispute, try opening up a dispute on dhgate if it's still possible. Alot of seizures, and website bust has been happening lately, at least you weren't fined. Hope everything goes well for you..

So true...always seizing the software...sadly it's easier to push steriods through customs than some crappy Microsoft Knock-Off....

Doubt that. I have many friends there. they make way more then that.

Think about it if I buy 12 pair shoes for $320, and they only pay like $10 per shoe. So thats a $200 profit right there for them.


Now I;m not the only person there selling too. They probably get hundreds of sales a month..

Point is they make way more then $300.

I've heard that there are like 5-10 students sitting in an office working for a boss and if that's the case then the 300 theory would fit, but isn't 300 dollars in china like a decent amount of cash, ofcourse there has to be some slick ones that have a direct connect with the factories and sell on dhgate, those are the sellers who probably will hesitate to give you a second shipment,.... But who lnows

I've had two close suppliers before. One of the suppliers whom worked at this company only got paid $170 a month and worked over 40 hours a week including the weekends. She used to tell me that the working conditions were horrendous and the boss used to smoke in the office, playing loud music all the time.

An office usually has 5-10 employees all made of students working for less than $2 an hour. They don't make much money but if you combine the amount they make, I am sure it will add up to a couple of thousand dollars. They only make $1-20 per sale depending on the item. But keep in mind, these companies make a small profit but with large volume.

Everything is relative. What won't support you here is the US may support you quite nicely elsewhere.

And if a college student in China makes $300 per month working in an office, that is probably good money for the type of job it is. Much better than working in a factory for 50 cents an hour.

I checked Wikipedia, and the average income in China for a city dweller is $3700 per year. So, $300 per month equals $3600 per year, almost the average.
