Questions about Priority Mail.
 

Does it really take 2-3 days for the packages to arrive? or more like 7-8 days?

If I use delivery confirmation with signature confirmation will the only tracking show it's been delivered instead of being left blank on USPS website?

I want to make sure that the tracking shows "delivered" because of paypal.

If USPS doesn't go by their word, I'm going to use UPS instead.

Yes it only takes 2-3 days for Priority Mail. Remember that with it being holidays I would imagine it could take a extra day or so due to heavy mail volume.

If you use signature confirmation then it will show who signed for the package on the USPS website.

Ok thank you. I was scared to send it via USPS because I heard a lot of people say that they got their Priority Mail in 2-3 weeks... :o

No Priority Mail does not take 2-3 weeks. Now if you sent something by Parcel Post or Media Mail then that can take up to 2 weeks depending on where it was going.

In my experience even media mail can show up in 2-3 days.

Priority mail is normally delivered in 2-3 days, but the USPS points out that this is NOT GUARANTEED. Of course, they would rather have you pay for Express Mail.

Having said that, it is very rare that I ship something Priority and it does not arrive within 3 days. And I have never seen it NOT show up on their website. I takes a couple of hours to update, but it always shows up.

I recently had one item take 8 days via Priority Mail, I think the only time this happens is when the package is misplaced or mishandled. It is very rare.

I actually have a package that was sent Priority Mail that shows it went out for delivery on Dec 1 and that was the last update. Of course the customer claims they have never received the package and wants their money refunded to them. I told the customer I would gladly refund their money once the postmaster completed a investigation. I haven't heard from the customer since!

But it is very rare that a tracking number doesn't show up. The USPS system is slower to update than UPS or Fed Ex.

I know the tracking number will show up. What I'm wondering is if it will say delivered, when it's delivered. :(

Or should I be safe and stick an signature confirm on there?

If you stick signature confirmation on it then it will show who signed for the package

I use Priority mail for ALL sales. 90% of shipments are at the buyer's doorstep in two days. Even shipments from California to New York/Florida. I don't even think about First class anymore, if the buyer is willing to pay more for shipping or rather not giving them a choice, they will still leave great feedback+DSR because they get the shipment so fast.
