UPS customs fees
 

I always bought stuff from this supplier in China...they always marked everything as "gift" so I didnt have to pay customs tax. two weeks ago, I ordered some more stuff and received them last week by UPS. everything seemed fine, but then today, I received a letter from ups saying I have to pay customs tax. can I ignore this letter? because customs is associated with the government, I am kind of afraid, because I dont want to mess with the government. What will happen if I ignore it? I am in the US if that makes a difference.
PS in the invoice there are 2 charges: US Customs Duties, Brokerage Charges. just trying to give as much info as possible.

If you received a invoice for customs tax then yes you need to pay it. Good rule of thumb: If you owe the government money then you should pay it. Don't draw attention to yourself or your address.

LOL! I have ignored hundreds of UPS invoices demanding me to pay for years now. Probably for at least 6 years ...

Change the name, that works in the UK most of the time.

I personally don't really care, as most of my suppliers put it down as a low value that way I pay $20 per parcel which is nothing out of my profit.

UPS usually charge you up front before delivering the package,,,,,,,,,,,,they have never dropped a package at my door unless I paid in advance for the fees.
