Notice of Seizure requires signature?

Notice of seizures from customs require signature upon delivery (certified mail), so can you sign for the notice of seizure if you imported the merchandise under a business name?

SaiJin 04-18-2011 11:39 PM

Are you asking us if the notice requires signature or did you get one with certified mail?

GofortheGold 04-18-2011 11:55 PM

Sorry if my question was a little confusing.
But on some sites, you can only work out an arrangement with the buyer/get a refund if you have a letter of seizure.

However, if the goods were imported under a business name, would you be able to receive the letter of seizure under the case that it is certified mail?

I'm still confused :suspicious:

A 'business' would have a principal, head honcho, boss, agent. Any or all of those takes responsibilty to sign.

If you are receiving a certified letter from the US Customs service regarding the importation of illegal goods, the LEAST of your problems will be a refund....

If the ZIP code was incorrect, Customs MAY have sent it back. However, if the package was inspected and found to contain illegal materials, it is seized and they will NOT send it back.

In that case you will receive a letter from them. It can take up to 45 days. Customs has 30 days to decide to clear or seize a package but letters are not lawys timely. Sometimes you reeive them a few days later. Other times it can take weeks.

Also isn't it if it says inbound into customs twice then it is toast?

yes.But the new yorker guy at jfk c an be funny. He said to me "be honest whatcha got in there" i said "some " and he said let me connect you to customs... and they told me my package was seized because of branded items...

2 INBOUND into customs is GG .. that means that they scanned it at the start and again scanned it when it went into the "bad boy pen" of bad goods.

Although The new yorker guy who answer at the express center while extremely helpful when china labels pop off, he can also be irritable . All in all, he's a helpful nice guy.

I have a package in customs since the 19th, no updates none of the 2nd inbound problem yet,, or if it says no further information both of those = toast. So i'm hopeful!

He also told me, sometimes they don't scan it again, so if they do consider yourself lucky that you even got the information
