EMS Delay....

I have two packages which are supposed to be coming via EMS, but they have been delayed for over 11 business days and no sign of the package landing Canada...

All I can see from the tracking is that they left China, but after that there is no more updates. Both packages where shipped on the ninth of April.

Is it just me..or is EMS getting slow these days?

HurricaneHuntr 04-26-2011 10:24 PM

Just depends, but i hear ya.I have 1 that left china on the 18th... It's nowhere to be found. I just had a package released from customs after 7 days....

The problem is..the package is neither with China or Canada customs...

Where else could the package be? Both packages where shipped on the 9th, and it's been a long time. Hongkong post has been extremely fast for me...but EMS takes a leg and an arm...

any reason why u are using Ems and Not Dhl?

unkown5454 04-27-2011 02:02 AM

DHL is a goddamn joke, that's why.

HurricaneHuntr 04-27-2011 06:32 AM

Some items DHL doesn't ship =)

rsot 04-27-2011 10:32 AM

Also DHL has certain weight limits that if not met, make the package expensive for oversea shipping...

EMS is working well to canada and usa ,so i think your case is specially.

stickmade 04-27-2011 02:15 PM

I reckon they have been seized either in china or when they hit canada. I actually had a package in the tracking say "forwarded for export" for 3 weeks until i asked my supplier, and he then informed me that they had been seized BUT still the tracking information gave no indication of this.

shaddelick 04-27-2011 05:08 PM

Yes, I agree its slow lately. I ordered something 5 days ago and its still not in the system for me to even track it! Trying not to let it stress me out:-)

Burning 04-27-2011 05:16 PM

Dhl is meant for heavier items...and I never liked DHL due to there expensive 'handling' fee they charge when importing items.

Ems was good a couple of months back...

shah 04-27-2011 06:45 PM

enter your ems tracking id in canadapost website.
If the item left china for canada it would show there.

Burning 04-27-2011 10:45 PM

Item already left China long ago...but it was never updated ever since....

Burning 04-28-2011 04:01 PM

Almost been 25 days and no sign of both packages... Weird...

Burning 04-30-2011 09:07 PM

Update: All two packages arrived through customs, and were released instantly. I guess there was a back log of shipments..........:amen:

jeffweico 04-30-2011 11:53 PM

I'm glad it worked out for you.

Just found out it's a holiday in China so that's why no movement in shipment has been stopped past few days.

The holiday is (May Day) runs from April 30-May 2nd

FYI....Next holidday for China runs from June 4th-June 6th

mycrowman 05-02-2011 09:10 PM

I have a shipment that hasn't updated in about 10 days either, but I give it a few more days before I start to worry.

shaddelick 05-05-2011 04:28 PM

My packages actually arrived a few days later. All together 7 business days which is just about average.

I am surprised that peoples packages here are taking over 10 days to arrive:shocked: Sometimes the problem is that the supplier is using a bad rout. I realized that many suppliers use a third party company to have it delivered to the post. My supplier somehow rushes this process and i usually have my packages here to USA within 5 business days from mainland china via EMS. Talk to your suppliers about this and see for yourselves:D

I would also ask your supplier if there is another tracking number. I just received package that had a whole different tracking number then what was given by supplier. I order about 9 days ago but the delay was due to holiday in China

Using DHL? If so, the original number is a reference number that is updated to an actual tracking number once pushed through HK port and customs. You can track reference numbers on their site to see when it gets updated, or you can ask your supplier to update you.
