What happens when EMS gets to the US?

I had my first EMS shipment sent out a few days ago and according to the EMS tracking number, it left the Guangzhou EMS sorting center (dispatched) over 2 days ago and there hasn't been an update since. My question is, does it continue to update once it gets to the US or does it change over to a different carrier and will I need a new tracking number to keep tracking it?

rsot 06-24-2011 11:16 AM

Yes it will update when accepted at customs and cleared. Keep tracking.

expiredpeanutbutter 06-24-2011 11:35 AM

yea mine left on Jun 15, 2011 and Ganghzou sorting center (dispatched) after foreign acceptance too but hasn't updated anything since. I hope I wasn't bamboozled

Giardino 06-24-2011 12:41 PM

did you contact the seller?

JRYAN34 06-24-2011 12:56 PM

dont worry, everything will be fine. they will update it as little as possible considering how many packages they deal with. i was constantly check my shipments when i first started ordering from overseas, and never have had an issue. if you are buy fakies then you should really stop tho

expiredpeanutbutter 06-24-2011 06:16 PM

I'm waiting on they're response to my email

Superdude 06-24-2011 06:21 PM

Yes it will update, it just takes a while to actually get to the US.

Mine hasnt updated since it departed the china sorting facility (3 days ago) =/

unkown5454 06-26-2011 04:03 PM

It's EMS and it's the weekend. 3 days is 100% normal. If you expect overnight all the way across the world, start spending thousands of dollars on shipping.

Woah woah woah, calm it down good sir. Check yourself before you wreck yourself :D :D :D XD

I meant 3 business days lol.

Its my first EMS shipment, I didn't know they didn't work on the weekends either.

PS- I expect all shipments to be delivered instantly to my doorstep.... :P

Red X 06-26-2011 09:31 PM

Sometimes when It doesn't update itself on the ems tracking site, it does on usps.com, check that out if you haven't already.

Giardino 06-26-2011 10:19 PM

I just use the same EE tracking number on USPS?

Edit: Yup, this is still the latest update:

Your item has been processed through a sort facility in GUANGZHOU, CHINA PEOPLES REP at 12:48 am on June 22, 2011.

rsot 06-26-2011 11:00 PM

Exactly - it has not even left the origin country yet- patience `Dino patience.

teedon 06-26-2011 11:16 PM

When your packages arrive in usa and then USPS(usa post office) will take over the job to deliver the packages for you .It is useless to contact EMS when it arrive in usa and it cost 2-7 days for your goods into usa from china.

Just be more patient if you see its status is left china.Even you can not tracking more details within a few days but it is on processing to move to usa.

As long as you see it arrive in usa and inbound out of custom ,you can sleep well ,as the packages will be deliver to you when you wake up.

its been sitting in china for daysssss lol

unkown5454 06-27-2011 12:30 AM

Get 'em teedon.

Red X 06-27-2011 10:51 AM

That sucks, usps Is what I use whenever EMS doesn't do any updating, If that doesn't work then you'll just have to wait and see what's going on. This has happened to me numerous times when it NEVER updates, next thing you know I hear a knock at my door, and I'm signing for my package, lol.

smellybelly 06-27-2011 11:24 AM

why do chinese companies continue to use EMS if it is so much hassle...? what is wrong with solid, trustworthy carriers like DHL/FEDEX/UPS/TNT ?

Red X 06-27-2011 02:52 PM

EMS works great for me, as far as DHL goes, I've never used it, but there are mixed results, good and bad here on the forum.

unkown5454 06-27-2011 02:57 PM

DHL can burn in hell. EMS is slower, but a solid courier. You'll figure it out.

Giardino 06-28-2011 03:57 PM

Just checked today (6/28) and heres all it is so far:

Timing Site Status
2011-06-21 20:55:00 City of Guangzhou Posting
21:18:00 City of Guangzhou Despatch from Sorting Center
22:31:00 GUANGZHOU Arrival at Sorting Center
2011-06-22 00:48:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center

6 daysssss lol

Edit: Ok so this is weird, I had another order from the same person who shipped it out 2-3 days AFTER the order that is supposedly still sitting in China, and yet here is the tracking info for it:

Detailed Results:

Inbound Into Customs
Processed Through Sort Facility, June 28, 2011, 5:44 am, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)
Processed Through Sort Facility, June 24, 2011, 11:35 pm, GUANGZHOU, CHINA PEOPLES REP
Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
Acceptance, June 24, 2011, 8:46 pm, CHINA PEOPLES REP

Sooooooooo....apparently the item that was shipped 3 days after the first one is in the USA before the first item. On top of that, the first item is still sitting in China =/

jbluntz 06-28-2011 04:07 PM

Yeah that happens on occassion, they could have forgot to update tracking, most of mine are delivered in less than a week from the time I paid. Was it a large package?

Giardino 06-28-2011 04:08 PM

USPS forgot to update? AND I PAY THEM WITH MY TAX MONEY!!?!?!? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!

jkjk

Ehhhh not particularly large I dont think, its a box of 10 DVD's

I get packages all the time via ems.....i think its better than DHL which i heard horror stories. Don't worry had a package that was still in JFK, NY and it showed up at my house the same day. After signing for package it still showed in NY it takes a while for there system to update....

boszika 06-28-2011 06:33 PM

Usually EMS get to the US in 3 days. Not counting the weekends. You will see "inbound international arrival" on the usps website.
As EMS mean express if the item gets to the US before 4-5 am,the package needs to be delivered by 3 PM.
EMS is more reliable then DHL,post office people (if they know you) are nice and might leave the package by the neighbors. DHL sit and wait all day who knows where they are.

This. And DHL is all independently contracted f*cktards, which is why most never give sh.t about you or your packages.

just fyi....just received package today via EMS(USPS) check there website still shows in JFK, NY. I leave in FL. Have to be patient, there site not updated all the time

newjerseymax 06-29-2011 12:53 PM

DHL is faster but way more risk. EMS is also the cheaper alternative for seller on smaller packages. Vice versa with large packages. A few sellers have good contact with someone inside shipping company and can actually let you know which day is best to ship.

Yeah, just contacted the seller about the package that has been listed as sitting in China since I ordered it over a week ago. She said that is very unusual and she will be contacting the Post Office today and will get back to me.

Giardino 06-30-2011 05:50 PM

Update- Approaching the 2 week mark and still no packages. One is still listing "Inbound to Customs" and one is still listed as the last thing to update as being processed at the sorting center in china almost 2 weeks ago.

Woo -_-

Gamefreak 07-01-2011 01:57 AM

EMS is known to take 2-4 weeks. Even more on holidays. My suppliers all said the same thing to me yesterday

Careful what you order from china now as customs is cracking down.

They are even sending shipments with logos an other marking on it separate in smaller packages in case they get seize it wont be a big lost.

I say give it a couple more days. If nothing then consider that package seized and watch out for a letter or something from customs.

Giardino 07-01-2011 12:16 PM

Yeah im hoping it will get here today, gonna go check my ups box soon

Not really.

Can take longer.

Patience helps/

What are the items?:ranger:

Gman91189 07-22-2012 12:10 AM

The longer the worst but have had it 5 days stuck still cleared. Patience is key tho...depends on the items that are being imported

newjerseymax 07-22-2012 03:02 AM

From what I have seen... Unless its near a holiday.... Anything longer that 5 days had not made it passed customs. My last such disaster. The Jerseys for my Fantasy Football League...
