Ordering from DHGate
 

Seems to me that I recall reading somewhere months ago that certain areas (like Hong Kong) were either more or less liely to be as heavily scrutinized than others...is this true?

It is all depends. Are your packages going to be bulky and/or heavy?
Most likely it will go to customs.
What is in your packages? Vero items,high risk.
Shipped with DHL from HK? Very high risk, I read it on the forum,it got seized more then once.
Safer to ship EMS or HKEMS, I have never had a problem with those. HKEMS is usually in the US in 24 hours.

I think HK Post is like China Air Mail is slow.
HKEMS is very fast ,I never had a shipment with them longer then 48 hours.
Much faster then receiving item from the other coast of the US.:pop2:

I'm assuming that these goods are being bought on DHGate? Do they actually list HKEMS as HKEMS on there...or does it go by some other name?
Just wondering because I might look for it to try out for my next order

I dont think that they list it, at least I never saw it. Just ask your supplier for it.
There is a minimum of couple of kilos with HKEMS but it is very low like 3-4 kilos.

You do realize that 99% of products in the USA come from Hong Kong, China, etc, and if you have ever seen the ships that carry all those products overseas you would realize the odds of your package getting seized is very low (considering you do not sell high risk items). The items you are ordering could very well be on the same ship next to a **** load of other items that will be going in retail stores.

Here is a picture. Each ship has 100's of large crates (transferred by semi's), and in each crate is 1,000s of smaller crates, and so forth.

Yes,rsot. Why not? I know it is fast and way safer then DHL then why not?
I learned about it from my supplier who offered it.

I got a shirt coming china post, they usually use it for small single items, ems is still good enough for me though.

I can get you items without going through DHgate, cut out the middleman and deal with the source directly, I have access to many types of products and services. Pm me if interested to import products from china.

Yeh from china we usually ship 4 types of EMS depending on the cheapest price option based on the weight and destination.

HK tends to be slightly faster than the others but Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Singapore EMS are are roughly the same speed wise. But overall it really depends on the cost as which service is used to ship the items out...

Yeh its usually better to find someone reliable based in china for sourcing as the prices charged on dhgate and alibaba are much to high...
