DHL Clearance Delay ==> Package in hold ==> then cleared
 

As of July 16, 2011 Several of my DHL packages were on "clearance delay" for 1-2 days, later on "package on hold" ...I just said good bye to my loved boxes after that and thought they were on the heaven of the seized media.

Few hours later, checked and all cleared and safely arrived. They were opened, inspected and sealed again with DHL Customs tape (not US Government tape). Do not know if I was just lucky or DHL is doing its part to stay in business?

With EMS was different because US Customs was really involved as far as I know. They sent official letters for each box seized.

Here is my experience with shipping companies:

2008, 2009 and before = EMS all OK
2nd part of 2009 = EMS started to seize packages at San Francisco (lost thousands)
2010 = switched to Chicago, bad luck = death row (lost thousands)
2010 = tried EMS New York all OK for small packages.
2011 = switched to DHL Ohio = 100's of boxes 100% clearance, all in a row.
July 2011 = some boxes inspected by DHL Customs then released.

How is your case?
Anything similar? Any shared info will help to the community.

I've been using EMS for small packages no problems all go through L.A. just recently ordered 1 DHL and it got released from OH then shipped to DC where it's being held by customs since the seller put the wrong zipcode on it.

Same delay happened to be with DHL a few days ago. Never had a delay before so i was worried but it cleared a few hours later.

Opened and resealed with GREEN US CUSTOMS TAPE!

are my packages long gone.. ? :(

The delay in Cinci is a deadly combo, give it a week, but I'd say it's toast if it's branded hoopla.

it was hoohaa but my seller packages very well...

I may agree some of your experience but some are not .Anway it is good reference for people .Even it is not too much useful for future plan .

And what is more i want to add is : 2008 2009 and before DHL all ok as well

What does the way your Seller packages the Shipment have to do with the Contents of the Shipment?

If the Contents are Phake then who cares how they are Packaged? For your sake I hope it is not one of the HOT Items like Software,,The BSA has been RELENTLESS latley going after EVERYONE Here is a Recent case:

I was simply pointing out that Phake Software is a VERY HOT Issue With Law Enforcement these Days.

I have been selling online VERY Successfully for OVER 10 Years Now,,I do Not need you to tell me Anything,,as a Matter of fact Im Fairly well Known on this Forum for GIVING People TRUE 100% LEGIT Suppliers for things like IPADs, IPODS, Playstation 3, Samsung, Sharp, ect, ect,,,Names and Links to such Suppliers can STILL be found in Many of my posts, right here on THIS Forum,,Just look for them,,

Another thing,,if you are selling "HooHaa" as you put it,,,,,You do NOT have a Niche',,,,,Finding,,Selling, and Making a Profit from "HooHaa" is EASY,,,,ANYONE can do it,,,

The REAL Challenge is to make a Good Profit the 100% Legit way,,,

I do Know that For someone with "Skilz" it should be NO Problem,,,

Wat happens to my package went into clearence and now says please contact Dhl???

Usually means that it was siezed by customs, and they want you to call so that they can tell you how to get your package back,,but I gotta warn you if the package contains Counterfeit goods, you may wind un in SERIOUS trouble,,,if that is the case FORGET the package and Pray,,,,
