The tracking info below was tracked from the USPS, what make me confused is that why my item has completed the processing of customs clearance on 3rd October but came back to the status of awaiting customs clearance on 5th October. Who can explain it and tell me what do I do now?Thanks guys!

It's USPS speak. Have had that happen before.

In fact, the item has arrived and gone thro' all the procedures. But the item is not being released because of the (so noted)

They tack on the clearance bit after they have taken other action. USPS have done their part. HMRC now are in control

Expect mail. Will be either pay duty or surrender the goods

Greenbean gave a good opinion for this issue.It really happend a lot to me before,custom clearance complete donot mean your packages can be delivery to you safety ,and it only mean the paper work have been done for your package with custom .

You have to wating for next note from them or you may call them to get more details.

A laptop. I tracked the info from parcelforce, it said same as usps i.e. awaiting customs clearance. I want to know do I need to clear customs by myself in this case? and how to do it?

The status is still awaiting customs clearance. As far as I know USPS will transfer to parcelforce when items arrived to the UK. If there is any extra fee parcelforce will send a letter to inform. But I have not received the letter yet. I sent email to parcelforce and they replied with the auto reply message which said my parcel is held in UKBA, they cannot help. I also sent email to customs4parcelforce@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk and auto reply message again. I do not know what shall I do in this case? How to connect either UKBA or parcelforce to pay the fees? Hi mate,

i'm in the same situation, I got the number for UKBA off Parcelforce after alot of arguing. The number for UKBA is: 02476212870

Give them a call and give them your tracking number and they usually take your details down and give you a call back. Make sure you do it early in the morning as the line gets Busy during the daytime. However what they will say is a different story, I tried this morning and they said my parcel was just sitting there in a backlog and hasn't been inspected yet.

Phone royal mail and give them the tracking number and show them that its been in customs for 7 working days and that you want customs number and then you can call them direct.

I did this for a parcel and now i am able to call them direct if i have problems, customs are VERY VERY busy so it takes a few replies to get through.

It also takes the right person at royal mail to give you the number as some tellers battle to even search a tracking number lol..:doh:

I do think your parcel will definately be released with charges since its been processing 7 days but i would think it would be relased by wednesday

parcelforce will just tell you the info that is on tracking, I would not worry too much, it sometimes disappears off to customs for 5-7 days and tracking goes quiet then its off to delivery depot....

You are right, I phoned parcelforce and it just said my parcel awaiting customs clearance which same as the online tracking info.

I got same problem on same dates and I'm still waiting. I think they have a major back log ??

Should I ask what item in your parcel? Mine is a laptop
