Which is better to rent a mailbox from, USPS or UPS?

I am going to open a PO Box with either USPS or UPS, as both of them have offices that are close to my house. I looked for a private place to rent a mailbox where I live, but couldn't find one close at all, so I have to go with either a USPS PO Box or a UPS PO Box.

Is there a benefit to using one over the other?

In each instance, can I rent the smallest mailbox, even though I sometimes get in decent sized packages that obviously wouldn't fit into the mailbox?

I plan on opening the box with a business name, fyi.

Appreciate any help.

I didn't even know that UPS offers PO boxes. what's their prices? for small one?

Just go to their website.

FYI, they're more expensive than USPS and a lot more of a hassle. I just opened a PO Box at my local USPS and it cost me $23 for 6 months.

did you have to supply them with a dba letter?

Don't even know what dba means, but no.

You go there, sign up, two forms of ID, you're done. Can put it under any business name you want.

DBA = Doing Business As

UPS has street addresses, which could come in handy......

bigger packages in a smaller box doesn't seem to be a problem with USPS. I have the smallest one and I get bigger packages all the time.

Yes, UPS has many more advantages.

With a UPS box you can receive packages from all carriers which works out well for returns and buying stuff on eBay, unlike a USPS box where you can only receive mail and packages from USPS.

Another advantage to UPS boxes is they have the likeness of a real address, not a PO Box.

Disadvantage is UPS boxes are much more expensive.

you're correct about UPS boxes, that you can receive packages from all carriers which works out well for returns and buying stuff on eBay, unlike a USPS box where you can only receive mail and packages from USPS.

I use my USPS PO Box to receive packages from my supplier, that's it. It is not ideal for ebay returns and what not, fyi. That being said, it's so cheap (USPS PO Box) it's worth it just to receive packages.
