China's Factory Slow down

My supplier in china say the copyrights goverment is checking all factories. There is a major slow down there due to this check. he can't even supply my demand during this criticle time of the year. Any suggestions??

china gov doesn't care

they keep thousands of chinese family's from starving, maybe feeding some big fatcats too but

is it just this one supplier saying this or

I haven't heard anything like that. But based on your forum name I am guessing you deal in software which I have no clue about.

Holiday time kiddies, this is no surprise.

GreenBean 11-10-2011 05:42 PM

Usual story. Any time after 23rd october, expect delays.

Solution is to have your supplies ordered B4 big holiday periods.

If you kept a track of previous years, it's a given there will be reports of one delay or another to get items landed in the USA.

Be prepared in future :spy:

I highly recommend AGAINST selling anything during the holiday season unless you have it when you list it. Every year, right after Christmas, we see all sorts of posts by people who PLANNED to get their customers items to them by December 25th, but couild not due to a supplier delay or a delay in transit.

This is DOUBLY true if what you sell is specifically for kids. For a complete meltdown, try explainging to 100 parents why their copies of Cinderella are NOT under the tree! At that point, you can forget about your eBay accounts. Your biggest problem will be staying alive!

I had a supplier who did state that the Chinese Gov't cracks down at least once a year. They shut them down. But like us they lay low for a while and reopen.

Yeah, if you are adding phakes to the mix, then you have even more potential problems. Customs crackdowns, factory shutdowns, etc.

There are only a few small factories down, because they donot have good machine and they do not have enough funds to continue business.

But there are lot of big factories exist ,and they can survive whenever they want because there are lot of demand and market for their products. Also they have good relationship with goverman as they can handle this issue with goverman ,as you know, the relationship can slove many problem in china.

^ that's exactly what my supplier told me when I brought this topic up to him.

Suppliers who have been around awhile and know the ropes will be fine. Small suppliers and newbs get the crack.

I mentioned this to my supplier today after seeing this post, the reply I got from him was..."Lol hehe".

I take it that its only some of your newbie suppliers that this is happening too...
