Anybody getting clearance delay in Cincinnati right now??
 

I know that with the Chinese New Year just getting over things are backed up. I've got a weird situation going on right now and don't know what to make of it. I have 3 seperate packages that arrived on seperate flights from HK and all 3 are going to different addresses with different product in them. Yet all 3 are in clearance delay. 2 of them since Thursday and 1 on Friday. The odds of all 3 getting seized I think are pretty high but could happen.

Anybody else having issues with Cincinnati right now? Thanks

I have 2 packages sitting since Friday, both say clearance delay.

Called a few times, should be processed fine is what Im told.

Heres how its went so far:

Called Friday, Customer service transferred me over to Customs department (not good I know) the lady told me the customs inspectors work the graveyard shift and she wouldn't have an update until Monday. Asked me what was in the box, I made up something legit sounding.

Called Saturday, Customer service guy said I should get it Monday and there shouldn't be any customs problems.

Called Today, Customer service couldn't get me an updated delivery date because it hadn't been processed for release from customs yet.

So we shall see what happens.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one in this boat. I know that they are backed up. Just one of the boxes arrived on Thursday. Hopefully they get to them soon.

Card, how do you have dhl packages in Cinci when you're on the west coast, did you move?

No all of my stuff goes through Cincinnati even though I am closer to Los Angeles. It's weird.

Sadly I called DHL this morning and it looks like all of my packages are going to get seized. I wonder if they decided to crack down since it was right after the Chinese New Year and knew it would be a good time. The lady I spoke with said it was almost every package being held for physical inspection right now.

Yep same thing I was told, f**k me.

I have another package hitting ohio tomorrow, bet its gone to.

They do this a few times a year. Usually I avoid this mess but not this time! Oh well I'll just wait a week and have it reshipped to a different address.

Just had another one land in cincinnati, same address as the 2 there holding, it passsed clearance like normal.

Now, I wish they would release my other 2, I know its not gonna happen but I can wish.

LA port usually busy so unless you live in LA your package will go to a different port.

I had 3 more packages go through Cincinnati with no problems. They all cleared and already departed Cincinnati this morning. My supplier is already reshipping the seized items. Could have been worse I guess.

Yeah I had another one come through its on the truck for delivery now.

My supplier is re-shipping today, still the few day delay of product sucks.

what's the status of 1st 3 parcels still stuck there?
did it change to plz contact dhl?

Every decent supplier I've dealt with has told me the same thing...DHL/UPS/Fedex is risky but you will get your package faster....EMS is safer but you won't get your package as fast.

I've never had a package seized that's gone the route of EMS, and I've gotten A LOT of stuff. I've had 3 packages that came from DHL, and 2 out of the 3 were seized.

I've had several packages seized with both USPS and DHL, so I really think its just luck of the draw with whether your items get grabbed for a check or not.

Why, thousands of more items go USPS, it is less likely to lose a package, than if you were to go with DHL, but you simply cannot compete with the delivery times of DHL.

If you find a good supplier he will replace any seized packages, which makes it worth using strictly DHL.

My 2 packages that are still being held still just say Clearance Delay, they don't say Please Contact DHL or anything like that.

The customs lady said it wouldn't update for the 30 days while they run their investigation.

Had three shipped on Tuesday/Wednesday and all arrived Friday afternoon by DHL. Never had any issues for over 3+ years with DHL.

I hadn't ordered anything in the last 6 months due to having the last 2 packages getting seized after they passed through Cincy and got to the DHL distribution center in my state.
I expressed my concerns to the vendor, sent my zip code and they said "no problem" Order was sent out and the same thing happened again. It took over a month to get 80% of my funds back. I found another supplier that was going to ship EMS so I placed another order. After the order was placed I got a confirmation that they were going to ship DHL and I sent an email back right away saying no. They said don't worry because the package was smaller than the previous ones.
Sure enough 3 days later it was here and even had green "Customs" tape on it

I'll never use DHL again, personally.

Just had another first.

Had a package routed through San Fran, never had that happen before.

Its a goner, customs stopped it.

Supplier said someone just exported 500K iPhones, so all the ports are backed up, and they are stopping everything.

Got 2 more that should hit tonight, hopefully in Cinnci, we shall see.
