| | | mercurial333 | 02-06-2012 03:39 AM | USPS Global Express Guaranteed ( GXG ) Questions I've been using Express Mail USPS , however lots of packages kind of loose the "tracking" information after it clears customs in the destination country, so there is no reliable "delivered abroad" to hang on to.
Is GXG more reliable with tracking? I know it's a a bit more expensive than regular Express Mail, however it also seems to be faster after reading around.
Couldn't find GXG in Ebay at shipping options, I take it it's not available there? So I guess I'd need to go to USPS and print the label there?
Share some experiences with GXG. |
| Gamefreak | 02-06-2012 03:51 AM | It is better as they guarantee the delivery date and if its not there guess what?
YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK :d |
| ovidiu | 02-06-2012 04:01 AM | Yes, there is usually no tracking once it leaves the US, but there is confirmation of delivery, so it's still good. GXG is just waaaaay too expensive. I've used regular Express Mail Int'l for many expensive items, and they've always been delivered. It's the Priority Mail Int'l items that don't show up! |

| ovidiu | 02-06-2012 04:56 AM | On express int'l, or priority int'l? |
| mercurial333 | 02-06-2012 05:06 AM | ^ Express Mail. |
| ovidiu | 02-06-2012 07:35 AM | Sending to random locations, or mostly one country? |

UK, Canada and Australia are fast and tracking is always accurate, all others suck with updates after customs. |
Correctly stated by mercurial - will add some other European countries to that mix. |
| ovidiu | 02-06-2012 07:10 PM | Have you considered going down to your post office and asking them to run a trace? They may be able to dig up more info than the tracking screen at USPS.com shows. I've never had problems, ever, with Express Int'l, and have used it to ship internationally for almost 10 years. In fact, recently had approx 6 items sent to locations such as NZ, Singapore, Korea, and others, all reliably & promptly shown as delivered.
I understand that Express Int'l Guaranteed is handled by Fedex. Wonder if there are customs issues like shipping directly through courier???? |

I'd rather stare at the wall for an hour than talk to the United States Post Office :)
It's probably the post office and customs who are unorganized or busy at the destination country.
I have two items confirmed delivered by customers, yet the "tracking" still shows "Processed through sorting facility in the US". I might get lucky and they will be updated in March or April :) |
| HurricaneHuntr | 03-06-2012 12:57 PM | also sometimes usa usps doesn't update, but you can use track-trace.org to track it on the destination countries website... i have 1 in brazil since february 10th that a guy is saying he messed up the zip on, and he expects me to figure it out? How about taking your EMS # and figuring it out, if you can step away from all those hot brazilian chicks for a second |
| mercurial333 | 03-06-2012 02:31 PM | Hmm thanks for that. Tried one package, but destination country uses arabic on their website :)
Good for other languages I guess. |
| Sell4more2 | 03-08-2012 10:16 AM | I use it to ship packages to Scandinavian countries because they can never guarantee the date and I always get my refund check in the mail from USPS :D. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:32 AM. | |
