Activity: 0% Longevity: 77% | | Does the UPS Driver have to deliver packages to your front door or front gate?
I live in an apartment building, second floor.
Don't they have to bring the packages to my front door ( of the apartment )? I mean, I don't live in the street or the building lobby. What are these people thinking when they only bring the packages half way. Is this normal?

That's pretty bad - means the package has not been registered.

Packages have Signature Confirmation if that's what you mean.

Not all UPS guys get a signature. For me, most of the time they just leave it at the front door and cover it up with my "welcome home" floor mat. I live in a apartment complex, soon moving to my own house next month. woohoo...

My UPS guy does the same with the welcome Mat...as if it's gonna hide what's under Welcome Mat.

If I don't come down in the lobby or at the gate in the street, they simply put the stuff back in the truck.

They always leave my packages on my deck and nobody bothers them. But back when I lived in Chicago, they would just leave them in the entryway, and sometimes they would disappear.

I dont think they are required to bring it to your apartment they could just leave it at the mailbox if they which... UPS drives are getting really really lazy most of them at least.

You have to understand how UPS works... Their drivers are well paid, they can earn $70k per year. BUT - UPS is a control-freak. All trucks are tracked by GPS. They have a system down to where the number of steps from the truck to a building entrance are calculated. Ditto fpr the amount of time it should take the driver to deliver.
So, it isn't so much laziness on their part as much as it is being under pressure from management to move quickly.

They don't leave it there since it requires signature.
I came down and told him to bring them up, he then asked me to help him carry the packages up (lol). I said no, so he brought them back to the truck and marked them as refused.

If you receive a lot of packages like this, highly recommend you invest in a USPS or mom/pop po box. Security is in effect.
@mercurial that comment about the refused packages - that is sickening.

That's not correct procedure.
With that MyChoice you can get a re-address made

With that MyChoice you can get a re-address made | I had already filed a complaint yesterday. Local warehouse called me, but that didn't get very far, needless to say. Called today as well, told me the packages were already sent back to sender, even thou yesterday they told they would get re-delivered today.
Signed up for UPS MyChoice Premium, 40$ for 1 year, but when trying to change delivery: Quote:
If you're the receiver...
Track with your UPS InfoNotice® Number (found above the barcode) and choose from up to four delivery change options:
Return to Sender
Deliver to a New Address
Reschedule Delivery -
Hold for Customer Pickup
| No notice (slip) was left obviously.
