Default what is going on with EMS posts from china to Uk and the Customs???

does any one know what is going on with EMS (parcels coming in from China) and the UK customs?

Iv never had any problems before now with them but this last week i have got 2 items cleared customs (Received and processed) BUT then gone back to internatinal hub and back to Awaiting Customs clearance !

I also know of 2 of my close freinds in the same situation and have seen ALOT of posts about others still waiting on their parcels....

Has anybody actualy had any items seized in the last couple of weeks, or has anyone had the awaiting customs clearence sevral times on their tracking info then received the item & if so did you get any charges or letters???

What has your outcome been if you are in the same boat??? Are customs just having a clamp down or what???

Import vat/tax charges 17.5% + £13.50 clearance fee ,i dont think it matters where the parcels are comming from ,i think its just they are checking the value of all packages at the moment as teedon and gb said its to do with the olympics

I was sent a parcel from China/Hong Kong about 3 weeks ago by EMS and it took a week to arrive in the UK, then 4 or 5 days to clear customs. There were no charges though, even though it was valued at $150. But that is far too slow for me, so I went with UPS for my last delivery.

I can just say that I am using DHL next time. UPS used to be okay but then I was expecting a delivery on Monday, and when it did not arrive I phoned them. Then they tell me that the delivery driver is allowed to "miss" a parcel for up to 3 days after the scheduled delivery date, since any parcels with higher "priority" will be delivered first, and that if I wanted it sooner I would have to go to their office and pick it up myself. What a load of horse sh*t. They have lost me as a customer.

That is exactly what I get if the parcel has had it value declared to be under the £18/£36 threshold. Although one of my parcels that was delcared correctly with its value above the threshold for "commercial consignments", went through the "awaiting customs clearance" stage but then had no mention of charges; it just went to "national hub received and processed" (their Camden office in London) and then went to the "delivery depot" (for me, their West End depot) and after that, it went out for delivery, and there were no charges at all. I suppose that they just messed up on that one... luckily for me it was full of replica stuff.

yes,it is mostly because of the olympics.

There are more troubles appear during this peroid of olympics.

You may have to be careful and make a new plan for your business accordingly.
