Shipping from abroad during olympics
 

Olympics just round the corner now....my supplier in UK who orders from China is holding onto stock because he says its become tighter to get things into UK.

Im not sure if he's telling the truth or if he he stalling in selling to me.
So before I order direct from China myself...can anyone else confirm whats been happening lately? Had any delays/confiscations recently?

The first thread was from November 2011.

The second thread is mostly about EMS...no info on DHL or other couriers.

More to the point..I wanted some contemporary views as the olympics is much closer now.

DHL seems to be even faster than before, i received my package in 4 days from the day i placed my order.

It's fine. Although some supplier wont ship, i've received my parcels as normal.

Any good supplier will inform you of the current situation regarding customs. 3 weeks ago my supplier told me they were cracking down and they were.

Not everyone will be affected some of us have better luck than others.

I've had a few deliveries from China in the last few weeks...

DHL -> No problem

EMS (Parcel Force) -> Big problems

What doesn't help is that the majority of customer service advisors working on the phones for Parcel Force are complete morons!:faint:

Also my suppliers have mentioned to me that customs are getting stricter due to the olympics coming up, this isn't the first I have heard of it
