EMS inbound into customs for 5 days

I ordered 7 pieces of different software and the package was sent via EMS. The USPS tracking shows inbound into customs on Jul,7 and never update again.

Inbound Into Customs
Processed Through Sort Facility

ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)

Is the package seized by custom? July 7 and 8 are weekends, does the custom work in weekends? what should I do?

Wait 7-10 days after the package arrives at customs. If there is no update...well then....just dont drop the soap.

Might get a letter from Customs - is that stuff in your real name + address?

yes, I dont know customs will seize packages. BTW, it is about 3-4 ponds

I have never had a package take longer than 2 days. Most take a couple hours. They see 1,000s of packages go through everyday, and know exactly what the scanner looks like for each type of commonly counterfeited item. Keep in mind they let the little ones pass through most times so they can snag the big players. 3-4 pounds for software is pretty heavy....

my mistake, not 3-4 pound, I think no more than 3 since that is only 7 pieces, a small package. I bought them for $150 in total. So most of time, what will customs do with my package. I feel worried.

BTW, what should I do with the seller, I do not think I can ask him to resend since it is risk.

If they seize it, which would be pretty rare for such a low amount, then you will get a letter from your customs port. Most of the time you will get the letter in the mail, with some type of case number and a phone number to call. If this is your first time, which is sounds like, then just call them up and tell them you bought is online and thought it was a good deal, and they will destroy them. Most people will tell you to ignore it, which you can do as well. I only know this, because I had a buddy of mine order some jerseys a few years ago for a lot of people and they got seized.

He wasnt reselling them, but in the eyes of customs it doesnt matter. They then resent them all in 3-4 smaller packages. You will most likely want to get your money back from where you bought them. If you want to have them resent, that is your choice, but maybe you should take this as a sign and not do so (just my personal opinion).

Most likely, yes. For future reference, when customs seizes a package, the contents will be destroyed and your information is passed on to the rights owner.

boszika 07-15-2012 09:05 PM

If it would get seized, you could ask your seller to stand the loss 50-50.
To resend it ,is not fair as you knew it is risk item, but also total loss is not fair to you.
NYC customs are just really slow, minimum 4-5 days.

7 pcs software should be a very small package and it should be not a big problem for passing custom .
