usps 13 oz rule

Anyone has experience on how long it takes for usps to update the tracking numbers of packages that they collect from ''blue collection mail box''. I am kinda worried about those 70+ packages because they were sold under stealth ebay accounts. I usually wait online but it was monday, the line was crazy long. I am not sure if they were over weight.
I used paypal online shipping for all of them by the way( small flat rate priority )

If you had already paid for the shipping why would you have to wait in line?

I just get the white USPS buckets/totes they they use in house.
Put my pre-paid packages in them and set the bucket/tote on the counter and walk out.
I have not stood in line at the Post Office in many YEARS.

Small flat rate boxes or what? I am thinking these were not under 13oz? Also, all post offices have those new drop boxes inside the lobby. Not to mention, in any post office I have ever been in, they simply ask you to place your PREPAID postage items on the counter and they will send them off. Why would you ever be waiting inline?

Stop putting packages in the blue bins and put them in the proper one or leave them on the counter during normal operating hours. I have been told by many clerks that the counter is the best place to put them surprisingly. They hate all the bins for whatever reason.

I agree with HWGA. When I was doing LOTS of shipping I would pick up the USPS white buckets from the dock (10 to 20 at a time) to keep at my house. I would put my packages in the buckets and then put the buckets on the counter inside the post office or give to the postal worker on the dock if I was running late. When I ran low on buckets I would swing by the dock and pick up more buckets.

Sometimes the tracking doesn't update AT ALL until it gets to the destination, then it shows the steps. It's odd.

Even if they were overweight, they probably would have been shipped considering they would fit into the blue bin... they generally only reject those if you hand them over the counter, but it's risky. If it didn't feel like it was over 13 oz, someone probably wouldn't red flag it and just throw it on the truck. If you shipped lead bricks on the other hand, it might raise an eyebrow.
and....
Sometimes the buyer is asked to pay the difference in postage if something isn't right. You could have insufficient postage.

Do it properly next time. I've spent a long time trying to take short cuts with the post office, and it isn't worth it.

They are extremely busy or late, they may not scan the packages at the initial destination you dropped them off at, but they should show info when they are processed from location to location and then when they are delivered.

YES!

ever since i stopped going to the counter and them scanning it right on the spot tracking is very loopy, sometimes its all blank until its out for delivery 3000 miles away.

don't sweat it..

Not all post office workers allow this. I know the one closest to my house doesnt allow that they still want you to wait in line but others do.

Leaving your packages in there is the worst. It seems to take WAY longer to deliver the items. Bes tif you give it to a USPS delivery driver that you see

I just dump mine in the lobby parcel box, i'm fortunate, they don't weigh stuff that often. Last week i did start getting " where's my item emails on different accounts" and i noticed it was a pattern, low and behold i go to my po box and there is a yellow slip in there... for packages that were overweight... they decided to weigh all my packages that my carrier picked up..

13.3 oz.... they wouldn't ship because i only paid for 13oz... 13.6 etc.. well.. i picked them up and took to the other post office and dropped them in the box.. they all went out fine
