EMS almost a month in customs
 

I have a package since july 07, 2012 and it says

Inbound Into Customs - New York

It was sent by ems. Its vero items, but its a small package. Is it lost or could it take a long time?

Last year I had a package for at least 2 months late shipping by ems, but it did not say anything related to customs.

From China origin?

Yes, my shipper says its stuck forever in there and I called usps, but they told me to call customs.

The package has been seized. You should be getting a letter soon.

First time ever I get something seized lol.

Dont mean to Bump this, but what if it has just been processed through NY, (hasn't entered customs) its been about 4-5 days now no update on anything

In my experience, packages don't always scan when they enter customs in NY. In this case, I wouldn't panic just yet. Delays in NY are not uncommon and this does not necessarily mean the package has been seized. The longer it sticks, the more likely it has been seized.

My best "guesstimate" here is that after day number 10 you can consider it a goner.

For the other ports (i.e. Chicago, LA, etc.) I would say 4 days is the cutoff. Buy NY is so massive with a huge volume - it is somewhat different from the others.

BTW, just to clarify...

Sometimes people HAVE received their packages after they had been sitting in customs for 30 days, or even 60 days. But those cases are very rare. In my posts above, I am just going by the odds.

You will not know for sure your package has been seized until you get the letter from customs. That is supposed to happen withion 30 days, but I have seen it take up to 45 days when they are busy.

When packages arrive in the usa.. 2 things can happen, it can go inbound or it can just directly pass to you. If you live in the eastern usa, and the parcel arrives in ISC before 2pm you will get it the next day, if its after 2pm it takes an extra day, to arrive at your post office. If there is no updates for more than 3 days after you see "ISC" then i would just wait 7 days. If nothing, then it's gone. Anything these days more than 7 days in customs is gone. Lately it's been taking 3-4 days, 5 max. Just hope it skips customs... That's what is great about new york.So many packages :)

Normally what happen to me was items went back to sender and they resent with different lables and packging

Who does this ems, dhl, ups, fedex, who? Never heard of any shipper who does.

can anyone help me with this?
I bought something from Taiwan and it was in the customs for 4 days now...are there chances of the item being seized?

4 days is too short to worry about - give 7-10 days.

This is different from customs. This happens if buyer does not accept the package then it is sent back to seller by the shipping company.

Had a package in customs since August 7? Is there any hope for it or it is gone? It has legit items in it. Usually, package clear customs for me in 3 to 5 days. Any advice is appreciated.

I have personally never had a package take longer than 3 days.

You could give a call to usps and they will let you call custom and then you will know the further details after you do.

But it looks you have very very less chance to get this package.

I have not received mine either.

EMS Tracking Not Working
 

I suspect that EMS tracking is not updating at ISC New York. Not even new arrivals are being listed. Nothing updated now for four days.
